Dropped $105 to get my Losi Micro running. Bought a new Dynamite 10750kv (or whatever the 10K number is ) and a replacement Spektrum ESC/Receiver. Also grabbed a set of red anodized aluminum wheel nuts.

Then I just blew another $180 on two Savox SC-1230SG servos, 25T aluminum horns, a Castle BEC, and a JR sub-micro servo w/ Losi micro saver. The servos are for my update plow truck project. They crank 500oz/in each and have the fancy steel gears, coreless motor, etc. I'll be using one for lifting the plow and the other for plow angle. Thought about using a glitch buster but decided to just give them the power they need with an external BEC.

Oh hey, I totally missed that you replied to that. lol Sorry bout that, I finished up the plow truck and I'm very pleased with it. Some of my best aluminum handiwork. I'll be putting a little thread up here when we finally get some snow up here in Michigan. Then I can finish taking pics, make sure it works, and then write something up.

Well I just bought a t Maxx and then turned around and bought a ARRMA Talion. Now thinking about getting a buggy maybe a ARRMA Typhon or Losi 8IGHT-E 3.0. So to say I got back into the hobby slowly after a 10yr break would be an understatement lol

I messed up and only ordered one pair of the shocks so I had to place a second order for the shock set and added some spare springs. Happy TAX REFUND to me! Oh and I know I ordered the hardened steel gears from both vendors. I forgot to remove it from one of the lists. I will just return one of them.

MAN, that stuff adds up quickly, don't it? RC is NOT a hobby for the ill of means.

The main website I order my Ofna Hyper parts from one day showed ALL the Hyper 10 parts as Out Of Stock. I got nervous that they had been discontinued, so I started looking for places overseas to order a bunch of parts from to keep me going for a couple years, since one of my Hyper 10s (the short course truck) I'd only had a year. I even tried to contact HoBao directly for any info on it's future, or lack thereof.

I found GeeFly Hobby in Taiwan (where HoBao is based) and while I had to look thru several parts sets (there are three versions of the Hyper 10TT that share parts, plus the Hyper 10SC) I found all I needed, and ordered enough to keep me in parts for some time. But DAMN, the shipping! I ordered $150+ in parts and got charged $50 in shipping! Ouch.

Come to find out, NitroHouse was just moving their warehouse, and is now back up and shipping. And I STILL haven't received my parts from GeeFly. (I hope the shipment made it out of country before the earthquake!)

And I did hear back from HoBao that they ARE still making the Hyper 10s and making parts. Yay!

I guess the good deal I got on some STRC aluminum parts made up for the $50 shipping charge....STRC had ALL the nice aluminum bits for the Hypers ON SALE for $5ea !!! Saved as much as 80% on each part! Check out STRC for upgrades for your vehicle. Good stuff. And they have random sales like that where you can save real money.

Even with the $50 in shipping you probably made out okay because of those really inexpensive STRC parts. So they are a Taiwan manufacturer? Decent quality. Not as good as Vanquish but still nice stuff. Sometimes its hard to justify the cost of Vanquish when you can get good stuff from STRC or Hot Racing. Hot Racing parts are easily available from a few spots online, more now at Tower but Hobbyetc has tons of HR stuff, and also they are a big distributor for GPM parts also.

Vanquish is ridiculously priced. The only thing I've ever bought from them was my 5" LED light bar for my SCX10 G6. The only reason I got it was because of the really cool housing that has a beautifully scale heat sink on the back side. I splurged for scale looks. Otherwise I would've gotten the even brighter Mad Dog RC one, which was priced the same. I guess scale meant more to me at the time than twice the light.

FrSky Taranis X9D Plus w/ case and X8R RX - $199.99

Amain had it on sale for $20 off retail ($239.99), then I added a $20 off (for orders over $200) coupon. It worked, I'm happy I paid the price of a used one, and it should be here Saturday.

It's been a while since I've spent money (other than fuel) on any RC, but God I've probably spent $200,000 over the last few years :/.

So my buddy EGbasher an I have been having a great race season this year (lots of rain in NorCal) and have been itching for a way to time our laps. Having sold a darkroom enlarger on eBay, I decided to go all out, since other simpler options didn't fit our needs, and buy a real timing system for my track. Transponder based with optical sensors and a decoder board that plugs into a laptop. Decoder board w/ 50ft USB cable and software, $150; 6 timing bridge sensors w/ USB cables @$40ea, $240; Two Transponders @$40ea, $80. Totaled about $460. Made a timing bridge with $10 of inch an a half PVC and some fittings. Thanks to the Flip Side Racing project, I found a much more friendly timing software and already have that set up ready for the hardware to arrive. The timing system is an I-Laps. rclapcounter.com Compatible with Robotronics and several popular software applications. Can't wait to try it out!

Sounds like a cool set up. Let us know how it works.

Didn't know about this thread. Geez, I can't get out of the local hobby store for less that 50.00. Well, maybe once or twice. Please don't make me add up everything from the beginning of this year. If I actually kept track, I'd have to consider a new hobby.

Nice I would like a track just not enough property to build one. Just bash where ever possible.
I spent about $450 on a Kyosho FO-XX Nitro. Love me some nitro so much better than electric. I have heard good and bad about this model but I will surely have fun with it.
