Default rc10T wheels/tire combo

My son recently recived an original RC10T from my brother. We are trying to get new tires for the rear. We bought new tires that were exactly the same as the old ones or so we thought. The problem is in the rims. The old rim tire combo was a 3-piece system that the LHS says is not made anymore. He sold us new rims (pin drive) that dont fit axles. The axles on our RC10T have a locating cone on the pin end. the beads on the new tires wont work with the old 3 piece rims (too thick). I hope someone can understand what I'm trying to describe and know of a rim that will work.
