lol I'm a few hours from dropping the hammer on a .46 trainer.

I have noticed that there's a vocal subset over there that absolutely demonizes 2.4ghz. Us car guys love 2.4 radios to death, but a few plane guys...I don't get it.

I saw a lot more degrading anything that's not what you have or use over there.

kit guys trashing rtf guys
nitro guys calling electrics toys and not real RC.
etc.

Ive got electric cars, trucks, shelf queens, nitro 4x4s and never had someone say "Your Emaxx is not even a real truck cause its not nitro!"

and god forbid you put up a post critisizing the sacred cows over there for anything.

Good luck with it...you just stepped over to the dark side.
Just had a look at it, nice looking thing and fairly cheap too, what will it cost by the time you add a radio and engine...$400?

At the most. I'll probably splurge a bit and get an engine with dual ball bearings. Call me spoiled by this being standard issue in car engines if you want but I don't want a bushed engine

Well I'm saying snobs!!! I was in the flight forums a few months ago asking question when I found a good deal on CL and the people were just rude. I don't remember my question but it was a valid question. I got PM saying that my question was already asked. It was asked, sort of, like 6 years earlier. Kinda got that vibe from alot of the people there.

378- Congrats on the plane. Post pics and let me know how it goes. And don't forget about us.

Heh, it will be a while before that plane gets airborne. All I can afford at the moment is the plane itself, the engine and the radio will come later. Besides, it's way easier to run the el-cam, that run lasts way longer, and the El-cam doesn't care in any way about high winds, so in no way am I going to abandon cars

I'd be interested if it had genuine turbines in it.

$7500 for one airplane, and thats not including electronics, fuel, remote/reciever. I'll stick with cars. Though, that would be a fun $7500 for the probably 5 minutes I'd have it in the air before it crashed in a fiery wreck.

Traxxas sucks! Your Face! jk

Anyways I cruise the airplane forums from time to time. You guys dont get into huge flaming wars over what company is better.. just like to talk about airplanes. Which is cool.

I love reading the plane forums. The AMA threads are like a good horror novel; the characters and scenarios scare you to the core, but you have to keep flipping to the next page.

I'm not saying all airplane guys are dbags... there were a couple guys over there that were genuinely helpful.

plus... I just bought my first PiperCub trainer, and ordered a kit to build... so I guess I AM one of the airplane guys now.

I will have cars, trucks, buggies, and now planes.

need a boat now...
