SC10 4X4 RTR Announced
I saw this morning on facebook where TA is releasing a RTR version of the SC10 4x4 for $419:

The price difference between the kit ($267)and the RTR is $156, too much for me.
I may wait awhile longer and see if they release a kit with upgraded parts.

It's got a brushless system with a 550 motor and a radio. The FT kit will probably be over $400, dude.
That motor will hopefully be pretty OK, but ThunderbirdJunkie forsees speedo issues.
SC10 4x4 is an awesome truck though.

I'd be substittuting my radio and my esc, plus I have an inclination toward kit building.
Is it a good truck for a beginner?
My SC10 was a RTR, but it was only $20 more than the kit.

The SC10 4x4 is a pretty nice building kit ITBJHO.
A few things to keep an eye out for:
Rebuild the shocks yourself. they come preassembled; don't trust them. Reassemble them yourself.
Open the diffs and put fluid in them. 20k front and 5k rear should do it.
It's a pain in the butt to get the pinion in proper position to go on the motor shaft. It'll be alright, the belt cover is flexible
Stock tires SUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Mind you, all kits have issues. These issues are no real big deal in the grand scheme of things. Just pay attention to what you're doing and everything will be gravy.
