T-Maxx Roller
The current owner does not know too much about it. He was told it only needs a spur gear and the LHS ordered the wrong one. He has lost interest, it actuall has everything motor included and lots of extras. I am discounting the motor since it don't currently work. It apparently has never been started and is basically new. I am taking a look tonight or tomorrow at lunch. Claims to have over 6 bills into it, not tha it matters. Asking 150.
So I picked it up 150 for all of it. 3 sets of tires, spare block, extra alum parts, tools and other misc parts. The spur gear needs o be replaced, it’ missing some teeth. I’m going to the LHS to pick on up this weekend. I also posted a pic with the carb, it looks like it is missing the linkage from the throttle servo. Hopefully someone can help with it, at least let me know what I am missing. He told m that it had a 2-sped tranny with reverse. But I can’t tell from looking.
Being a noob, i’m happy with what I got hopefully i did not get screwed. As long as it is actually a t-maxx and not something else, I am guessing I made out pretty good.
this would be the first gen of t maxx trucks w/ a pro 1.5 engine !
It’s categorically an old pro.15 Maxx.
I see several things in the pics posted. The throttle linkage appears to be there, but it looks to be broken where it attaches to the throttle arm. The slipper clutch is missing the spring behind the adjustment nut. Its got what looks to be a revo DC pipe (The pro.15, if you get it running) will run but does not run well with that pipe).
Post some pics from the top with no lid and someone may see some more issues that need attention.
I happen to have the other pipe so I can chagne that no problem. The motor started but shut it down right away since I just wanted to see it start.
I google T-maxx throttle pics but couldn't find one that was helpful. Can some one send me a pic of the throttle linkage as it should look at the carb. I can then look to see it its one of the part that was tossed in the box. I am pretty sure I have a slipper spring laying around that I can hookup if the original one is not in the box.
Basically its just a linkage rod from the servo horn angled over the spur gear then with a bend down and another 90° bend that turns to the throttle arm. Two linkage collars are used on either side of the throttle arm to secure the rod.
So next trip to include spur gear and some guidence on the brakes.
