Default TX Case Lock Problem

Hi guys. Slight problem here.

My kids decided to be helpful kids (as they only can be) and lock my transmitter box up to make sure the transmitter and batts are safe. However, they can't remember where they put the keys for safe keeping...[:@][&o]

Short of taking it to a locksmith or flat out breaking the locks, does anyone know of a better way to open the case without the keys?

As always, thanks.

If I had it in front of me I could open it for you with a paperclip, unfortunately, this is not a skill easily taught over the net. Ask around amongst friends if any of them have this 'gift'.

I would go to a department store and "borrow" a set of suitcase keys, most of them are similar. Maybe pick up a pair of TSA certified locks (the crappy kind), and see if the keys from those will work.

Good ideas gents. Thanks.

Maybe I'll sit down with the case and a paper clip and see if I can do something. Good way to spend the weekend in front of the tellie...

The biggest secret to lockpicking is using the appropriate tool, it's all in how you bend the paperclip. Try to visualise the shape of the old key and make one prong a similar shape, use another paperclip which has a few slight zigzags in the end, underneath the primary one (or toward the tumblers, wherever they are), and move them both together in the same direction when you try to turn the lock.

A little bit of C4 will open it in a jiffy, its the universal lock pick

Seriously though its probably a simple lock to pick try and take a light to see through the keyhole if there is like a little piece of wire in the back. If so that is probably the unlock trigger if you hit it in the right direction with a paper clip it should pop the lock open. That is how I pop open cheap ass locks which are similar to as found on suit cases, and lower grade handcuffs
