Default Some battery questions ...

running (soon) Rustler VXL, Brushless : http://traxxas.com/products/models/e...3707rustlervxl

did i make a mistake in investing in the following battery: Traxxas 7-Cell 8.4V 3000Mah Battery

*Also,
i came across some information that talked about the importance of and proper way to "condition" your batteries..
Technical Tips for NiCd and NiMH Battery Pack Users

i saw that and right away had to ask what you guys think about this.
do you guys take the time to do what this article describes?
i thought it seemed to be a bit too much / overboard. what are your thoughts?

as always - all the best...

I say that cause NiMh's aren't that good for powering BL setups, and a cheap 2S lipo will out preform that 7 cell battery.

hmmm ..
maybe if i price them right i can still come out on top if i can sell them.
they're 3 NEW identical Traxxas 7-Cell 8.4V 3000Mah Batteries (the 2 i bought + the 1 that will end up coming with the car)
i saw theres a buy sell section of the forums here. maybe i should learn a little about posting them there.
what do you think might be a good offer to move them quickly?

thank you by the way for the feedback.

I sold the two that came in my Summit (same ones as you have) for $37 shipped (for both) on eBay and they sold FAST. The guy even wanted to know if I had more. I know eBay can be a pain to do at first, but it's by far the best way to get top dollar for what your trying to sell because so many people shop there.

You can also try selling here too (hey, it's free to list, and no fees). I've used it a reasonable amount.

And in spite of what our pessimist cumquat says, folks out there DO want NiMh. For that matter, other older technologies too - brushed motors, brushed ESCs, etc. NiMh isn't THAT old. Some folks are still using older setups for whatever reason, and like finding good priced items that are lightly used.

Myself, for example - I like brushed motors in some of my setups, as it's a great speed to still have fun and not too fast for my kids to drive. Plus I can get barely used brushed motors for cheap, so it's a great deal to me. Guys love buying new brushed traxxas setups and chucking their never-used Titan 550 motors...I have bought a couple for very little ($12?), and it's well worth it to me for that particular setup.

Anyway, my point is - it's new, in good shape - you'll find a buyer.
