I just placed my order for a Ofna GTP2e! I have been eyeing these kits for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger on it. The kit only costs 209.99 but with a 20.00 off coupon from tower with free shipping I got it for $189.99 shipped! I think these are a pretty awesome deal[8D]! I have a spare Mamba Monster 2200 brushles system just sitting there waiting to drop into something. I also ordered some goodies from RCMonster. I'll post pics when everything arrives!

yea saw a few vids on youtube of that with the model
from what I saw the vehicles looked stock that were hitting that speed
had been tempted to make an insane speed vehicle(using that chassis actually), but honestly after I thought about it after I built it where could I actually run it to get that speed my enthusiasm fell out(chicago's streets are bad to the point I can't even run a savage in it)

I had an ESC I sent to Castle for replacement but as everyone knows Castle has been taking 6 weeks or better for turn around. I am impatient and bought a used one. then when I got the replacement back from castle I had an ESC and no motor. That wouldn't do so I HAD to get another motor!LOL!

Yeah this model is capable of some very impressive speeds while staying mostly stock. Gear changes are the only thing I really plan on doing right now with it. I might get some aftermarket carbon fiber becauseit just looks so cool!

I have a street right around the corner that is 5 lanes across and smooth enough to do speed runs on. The only problem is its busy...during the day. I do speed runs on it at night at 2am-4am. There is also a 1/4 mile drag stip 15 minutes away. I need to see if they will let me run on it too.

you could probably run a quarter faster than most cars with a R/c that can do 120mph!

I just got a package in the mail today from Tower! I can't believe how fast the shipping is. I ordered it on Monday and it got here today on Wednesday. I've heard people complain about their shipping but I think Their service is fantastic.

I haven't had a chance to open it up yet but I'll try to get some pictures of the unboxing tomorrow!

Didn't open it ? You sir have some restraint. I would have ditched work for the week waiting for the postman (actually woman and she hates me from all the RC stuff) then had it all over the family room in pieces making sure all cats and wives give it a "wide birth"

I won't be using the tires and wheels that come with this kit on this car. I have a set of BSR Racing foams that will be used instead. That was nice of them to include the plastic on the inside of the Box wasn't it? WWhen I saw it in there I showed it to my wife and I laughed.

Here are some pics of my current progress. it is nearly finished and ready to go. Now I just need to descide how to paint the body. I'm thinking just a simple solid white. I do alot of my speed run at night when there is little to no traffic and I can run under the street lights. I think I white body would be the easiest to see at night. It might also give this body a nice scale look too instead of some wild paint job.

I got my RCMonster single speed conversion in yesterday. Unfortunantly I left it in my real car which I took to the garage this morning to get one of the front axles replaced. I should have the car back by Monday. untill then I will have to run the stock spur.

I sure wouldn't get elaborate painting it. One 50 mph smash into the curb and my body looks pretty bad. Run it stock and dial the bad boy in, on slicks like that you can get it to track perfect. This is a setup someone told me to go with.

Front

-1.0 camber
1.5 toe out
200,000 front diff

rear
-2.0 camber
2.5 toe in

no info on rear diff fluid

shocks mid position on towers, outside position on arms

I was also told 2000 differential fluid in the front shocks and 1000 diff in the rear shocks, never heard of that before and haven't tried it. That guy ran on tracks so most likely need to be a bit more straight for speed runs. Shred up Chi town !!

Here is a quick vid of the first test run. The steering is a bit out of wack and has a strong pull so I have a few issues that need to be setup properly. I need to find my castler link too and adjust some of the ESC settings. Also one of the belts on my Ipanema Slicks is broke and one of the tire make a loud slapping noise as it goes faster. I have a set of BSR Racing Faoms that I think are better for speed runs. Notice the Dog in the background!? LOL!

Thanks for the setup info. I have heard of people using diff oil in the shock too. I haven't tried it yet. The stock suspnsion setup feels too soft right now. I will definently try to firm up the front but the back a my keep as is to try to get the most traction I can out of it.

Here is the body. I have 3 coats on it now. I think that should provide enough coverage.

I figured I would throw in a pics of my whole brushless 1/8 fleet!
