Essential tools?
Hi Guys
I was wondering if you had to compose a list of the essential tools you may need for working on RC vehicles what would they be?
Cheers

RE: Essential tools?
Great question!
Maybe I'm too old school (or just stubborn), but I still prefer feeling it by hand when I screw....and yes know I'm probably the last guy on earth who feels that way, but it is what it is.
The tool I use the MOST? Probably my minitature needle nose plies.
The tool I'm happiest to have? Magnetic rod. See 7:50 of this video (concerning my tool set which has unfortunately tripled since filming) to see what it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A309aVrz_B4

My only electric tool's that I use are my dremel, jigsaw, and grinder(ok last 2 are only used on RC's when I'm making a chassis or shock tower, whichis why I bought em).
All my screwdrivers are sweat powered.

The reason I don't like electrics hex drivers because I don't want to strip my screws by overtightening

RE: Essential tools?
That Bosch Ixo is too weak to strip most screws. And I don't screw in %100 - maybe %90-95, and the last bit by hand. Screwing goes both ways too.. i've stripped WAY more screws by hand than with the Ixo.. Trust me, all it does is make wrenching/your life MUCH easier...

However its a must whether by hand or drill to have good quality screws. I can't stand having to take out a stripped screw and sometimes you need to replace the part. Kind of the reason why i don't use my tamiya tb03 anymore, the hardware was horrible and even the upgraded titanium hardware from tamiya was horrible. Another reason I think I will only buy 1/8 scale now is because of dem small easily stripped screws
