New Clutch Bearings Not Spinning....

New Clutch Bearings Not Spinning....
This is an interesting one. My clutch bearings started to wear (which was due to loose a flywheel I fixed a while back). I got new clutch bell bearings for it but they don't spin as well as the existing (worn) bearings on the crank-shaft.I've changed the clutch bearings on my Forza about eight times, and have come to learn that bearings should spin freely on its shaft.
Yes...I've shimmed the hell out of it and back(shimming is not the issue). Yes they are the right bearings, etc. ;-) I've never heard ofa "seating" process either, but could that be the case? I thought about lubing them with wd/40,but wanted toseek advice before doing so. I ran it hard with quick bursts for 1/2 tank in hopes it seated it or something (like new clutch shoes), but haven't taken it apart yet to see if they are spinning any better.
Thoughts?

Wd-40 Isn't a lubricant so I wouldn't use that, I bet once you run them a little they will loosen up, I would put some kind of lubricant on them though just dont put much because it will get all over the shoes and make them slip.

on some new bearings the rubber shields can drag until everything loosens up.....or you have your shimming messed up......

I'll run it a few more times then inspect it. Don't see how it can possibly be the shimming as the exact same bearings work fine with the current shim set-up. Additionally the bearings are not spinning well when I place them on the crank shaft and test them. Hopefully it does need to just loosen up. Thanks

New bearings will seem to spin slower, for good reason. There is grease in the bearing. After some runtime, the grease gets slung out and the bearing seems to loosen some.
I use metal shielded bearings in engines and clutches and they behave the same way. Although I rarely have to replace clutch bearings or engine bearings.
