**NEW! Team Associated Rival 1/8 MT**

New from TA, the Rival 1/8 MT. This rig looks awesome...
-2000kv motor
-4s lipo
-8 fluid filled piggyback shocks
-Beadlock style wheels
-17mm hubs
It looks bigger than the Flux HP, and is definitely cheaper. Wouldn't take much to turn it into a 6s capable monster either. Can't wait for it to come out. Maybe next year, I will sell the XS and get this beast! It won't let me upload a picture, so I attached the link.

how is it that all their XP speed controllers look like they use the same case? In the pic it looks just like a SC450 or SC700.
It does look a fair bit like an emaxx. Im sure it will handle better (center diff) but still a simillar layout to an emaxx.
If I had money to shop for a 1/8 brushless MT, id be looking at one based off a truggy.

I've owned probably a hundred Traxxas and Associated vehicles, and there is rarely a comparison to be made. I enjoy both for different things but at the end of the day companies like AE, Losi, and HPI have better materials than Traxxas. Their designs can be very good but a lot of them are, for lack of a better term, too good for their quality. They're mostly concerned with maintaining their price point which limits the quality. They're a very capable company and I'd love see some high end stuff offered from them, maybe a new 1/5 scale.

Suprised nobody's pointed out yet... this has a lot of the smell of Thunder Tiger about it.
I don't care what Associated say, it's got Thunder Tiger wheels and tires (beadlocks are fakes, they are the same as on the MT4), ACE RC (Thunder Tiger) electrics, now branded as Associated XP...those plastic shocks look cheap and nasty.
This is almost a Thunder Tiger MT4 XL by the look of it, wonder how much of the drivetrain is the same...

You know what I just thought? At least we'll be able to get those TTR tires more easily now. They are probably the lightest MT tires around, would be very good for Savages and Erevos.

The MT4G3 stock tires rock. As foxy posted they are light. Good stiff sidewall and just enough slide to them that the truck will usually break loose before your MT traction rolls. Mine stayed glued on 6s. They will sell a ton of these under the AE brand. It does'nt look as tough as the MT4 and you can't beat the suspension on the MT4 imo.
