Default Time for something else...

I've pretty much finished an overhaul on my 2 main 1/8th brushless models (pics soon, just applying finishing touches), my Xray XT8e and my Associated SC8e. I'll be picking up something else soon for some 1/8th on road fun, but that's down the line. So I bought some fresh batteries, in the form of some 6S packs and a few hardcase 2S for when I go down to the track to run in pairs. Part of the reason I did this was because one of my Zippy 3S batts that I currently run in pairs for 6S, died. So now instead of 2 pairs, I have 3 of these 3S batteries and plenty more 6S coming soon, so some model that benefits from 3S is in order, and it must have a big tray cos these batts are long (145mm).

Not fussy what class or even surface, but no Traxxas and no HPI, and it's got to be stable and fun. Ideally an RTR (must have a good brushless system), but kits considered. Consider budget relatively high.

Let's hear it Thanks folks.

OFNA LX2e!
Associated RC8.2e?

Basaically it has to be a 1/8 scale. Most truggies have to be converted to electric. So you are either up for a buggy or a MT I guess. What about the Associated Rival? Or the Thunder Tiger MT-4 monster truck.

I would definitely go out and get the Rival, if not that, then the Thunder Tiger MTA. The MTA is similar to the MT4, it's just longer, and has a funny suspension lay out. I'm either saving for one of those two, or the LX2E.

Sorry guys, maybe I wasn't clear, it needs to run on 3S, and be totally nuts on 3S, so I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a 1/10th, besides, I'm done with 1/8th for now. Plus, none of the cars you both mentioned offers something that the XT8 or SC8 don't. The SC8 has my buggy and short course needs covered, and the truggy has the truggy and MT section covered. I do plan to get an LX2e, the time is just never right, and it isn't now either.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Road-Buggy-Kit  I like this one a lot.

Or the shaft drive Associated SC10 Prolite edition. Other than that, it basically comes down to your chassis preference, buggy or truck, and the electrics on 3s. Not sure what else you would be interested in.

I think the buggy wouldn't be versatile enough, and besides, my favorite brand has a brand new 1/10th 4wd buggy out.

To be honest, the main contenders right now are the OFNA Hyper 10tt or the Kyosho DRX, completely different but both mad on 3s.

Oh boy.

I never realised the Hyper 10TT had been re-released as the Hyper Mini STE! [X(]

Look at that price! [X(]

I had a well used hyper 10tt....the steering was wonky on it tho. but it was cool in that it was a 1/10 built like most 1/8 scale models.

why not get a 4wd sct? like the ofna one?

Being a 1/12 scale, I doubt the Hyper Mini STe is a re-release of the Hyper10tt (which is 1/10 scale).

Humm, My thoughts... I'm trying to think out the box here...

Axial SCX10 with Wraith axles and a SCT body??? Might not be the most stable thing, but with a good 3900kv motor u will get plenty of torque twist, wheelies and impressive crashes....

Losi Dessert Truck or XXX SCB?

Any SCC?

Tamiya VX-01...

I still like the SCX10 idea... And I'm 99% sure the batteries will fit.
Don't know how stable it would be but damm it would be fun

They are identical apart from cosmetic differences, but its moot anyway, there hasn't been stock of the ste for years from what I understand having done a little more research. The ste evolved into the TT I think, rather than the other way around.

The scx10 is indeed on my to-do list, but again that's not really what i'm looking for at this time.

I'm actually toying with the idea of an hpi wr8 rally, but a friend has a drx for sale so I'll take a look at that first.

EGAD! That's a killer deal for a shaft-drive 4x4! If I had the do-re-mi, I'd order one!

Not only that but it has PBS suspension, alloy threaded bodied shocks, 3 sealed tunable diffs and front CVDs.

I have the dough and still can't get one, no stock anywhere. I think we can blame HPI for that, but I'm not sure, so I'll reserve judgment. There's a couple of RTR Hyper 10TTs on ebay, but I dunno...

My friend asked for a silly money for his second hand kyosho, so that's out.

Already got 3, two of which have sat for over 2 years and the other is waiting for a brushless conversion (yet another project for another year).

Nevermind my last post Foxy. We need to narrow it down a little. Monster truck, buggy, truggy, rally? Gotta know what you want that's different from your current fleet.

There aren't enough classes.

OK, let's narrow it down...remembering it has to be nuts on 3S, let's narrow it down to either a rally car or a 4wd buggy/truggy (1/10th - 1/9th).

Savage flux xs might be a thought...can it be lengthened and widened to be more like a 1/10th truggy?

EDIT: ACtually, nah, forget the Flux XS, I Already got a hopped up the wazoo Merv.

Or possibly the Kyosho DBX VE 2.0. 4wd, brushless, RTR, 3s capable.
