Sorry dude. The moment you said Tamiya paint I had a feeling I knew what you did.
Your best bet for getting the paint off is to flex the body. If you use Brake fluid it will take all the paint off and it really doesn't do a real good job anyway.
Flex the body and see what happens. Other wise consider it a basher body and paint a new one for the shelf.
