Question Mini e revo being weird, help

So I broke my brushed mini e revos antenna, So now it gets crap for range, So I took the receiver out of my exceed rc rally monster to get better range, but when I did my car started being weird, when I pull the throttle the car goes at about half speed for roughly 3-4 seconds before it takes off at full speed, now im guessing it's the receiver and not the car, but does anyone have a solution? Also I've been looking at buying the fly sky GT3C with the rx receiver (I think it's called the rx) will I get the same problem?

TX = Controller
RX = Receiver.

both generally need to be the same brand and frequency.

generally when u replace a receiver u need to calibrate the ESC to it and the TX.

u need to test it futher..

problem1: range issues
cause: Ariel missing
correction: replaced receiver but having a different problem,

problem2: delayed throttle response,
cause:?
correction?

so we need to find out that's going on. Replacing the radio gear might not fix the problem.

id recommend fully charging the battery, and double check its fully charged.
double check that the steering is in ch1 and the ESC is ch2... If u are using a traxxas receiver be sure they are not both in ch1.
then plug everything and turn on. Is the problem there?
Yes
Re calibrate the ESC, as per manual, we can help find the instructions if they are lost
is the problem there?

If it's still there we need more information on the brand of electronics u are using. Brushed or brushless? Am or 2.4ghz

Recalibrate the ESC
These instructions are from the XL-5, but they work on the XL-2.5 the merv has just as well(I've used them on my xl 2.5 which is how I know they work)
Make sure you center your throttle before following the instructions though

1. Disconnect one of the motor wires between the XL-5 and
the motor. This is a precaution to prevent runaway when
the speed control is turned on before it is programmed.
The motor does not run during the programming sequence.
2. Connect a fully charged battery pack to the XL-5.
3. Turn on the transmitter (with the throttle
at neutral).
4. Press and hold the ESC set button (A).
The LED will first turn green and then
red. Once the LED turns red, immediately
release the set button. The red LED will
turn off after one and a half seconds.
5. Next, the LED will blink RED ONCE. Pull
the throttle trigger to the full throttle
position and hold it there (B).
6. After two seconds, the LED will blink RED
TWICE. Push the throttle trigger to the full
reverse/brake position and hold it there (C).
7. Finally, the LED will turn solid GREEN, indicating the
programming sequence is complete. The LED continuously
shines green indicating the XL-5 is on and at neutral (D

Not sure if you under stand the question, my XL 2.5 antenna is broken, I put my exceed rally monsters FHSS receiver in it, and it does the 3 second delay before it takes off at full throttle, now I'm wondering if it is the receiver, and will I have the same problem with the GT3C and the rx receiver, and is there a way to link my TQ with the FHSS?

Have u calibrated the ESC to the new receiver?? Syco posted up the instructions for you.

u may know or not know, but it's the first step in diagnosing the problem.
ESC are not plug and play.

This is problem could be caused by
ESC calibrated to another receiver's base line
incompatability issues with the RX and TX

or less common things...
ESC incorrectly setup and reverse is forward
low voltage
excessivly low punch setting
excessive motor timing
changes in wheels or gearing.

the Traxxas 2.4ghz stuff is not compatible with any other brands.

FS GT3c is awesome... Receivers are $7 and it can be hacked to controll up to 8ch

This is true (there is 2 ESC's that are plug and play though, but those are in HPI brushed vehicles )

To me it sounds as though its not calibrated, and the ESC is waiting for the neutral position to move. Its probably thinking the brake is being pressed, and the finger was never taken off.
