Default that doesnt seem right...

I was just on tower hobbies....
a slash 2wd vxl, with TQI and a battery is $350.
A slash 4wd, with TQI and a battery is $400.

Now, maybe it is just me, as I am used to 4wd's typically being more expensive than 2wds, but doesn't the slash 2wd seem too expensive? I would have expected there to be a $100 difference in price.

Now I am lost...I kinda want a good bash truck, and a 2wd is less to break. But 4wd does mean more traction and it is only $50 more.

Darn traxxas and their odd prices.

im in the UK and prices are 4wd £379 2wd £329 we pay well over the top here in the first place. so the 2wd price is a utter insult.

I'd go the 4x4 as much as I love my 2wd its slow.... On carpet tracks its awesome but on loose dirt it really starts to feel slow.
where the 4x4 still has decent acceleration on loose surfaces.

allso when in mid air, the 4x4 is a lot easier to controll and change the tilt.

one other thing I like with the 4x4..... It has 4 wheel brakes. When bashing that little bit of extra braking force can be the difference in hitting something or not.

I wonder if Traxxas are selling the 4x4 cheap to replace it with the LCG 4x4?

I had a 4wd pede last summer, and for some reason it felt slower than the rustler vxl i had the summer before. yeh, the traction and braking are much better on the 4wd, but maybe i just feel the need for a very fast, hard to control, wheely popping machine.

Did traxxas raise their prices again?
Thought the 2wd one was around $320

For fast crazy wheelie popping fun... Love that terminology

u might be better off with a rustler. Lower COG, wider stance, bigger wheels, wheelie bar.... And cheaper.

Or just another thought.... What about a 1/10 truggie with a overkill brushless combo on 3s?

They raise the price but they do add stuff to try and make up for it. Add 2.4ghz, raise the price even though they're ditching AM across the board. Add 7 cell NiMh and wall wart charger most don't want, raise price. Update to TQi Tx, raise the price.

Poor excuses for raising the price but it does seem to be the pattern they follow.

yea... that was like 4-5 years ago though.
I still remember them raising the 2wd Pede up $50 cause when they did that I stopped recommending them. Then some people started thinking I had some kind of anti-traxxas mindset while I feel like the value its not there anymore for their prices.
