Thoughts on a crazy idea
I've had a idea....
Looking on ebay I stumbled on these little cheap hour meters... For only $8!!!
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hour-Mete...4facbd5&_uhb=1
I got to thinking what about fitting some to my rc cars.. They look easy enough to mount and wouldn't be heavy enough to effect a basher's handling.
it would be useful for servicing.. Like say if it had a few hours clocked it might be worth topping up the shocks and diff oils.... Or something along those line.

Humm, I'd be in! Now we need to find appropriate times for each. I've got one for my MERV already planned out.
Diff Rebuild; 5 Minutes.
Shock Fluid Refill; 10 minutes.
Battery replace; 15 minutes.
LOL!

It says that it doesn't have a battery and connects to the spark plug. So I'm guessing it will only display while the engine is running. I wonder whether an rc vehicle's battery can be made to power it very easily. If not it may only be good for 1/5 gas vehicles.
For me, there is one good thing about winter, it's my hour meter. Every winter I tear down my rigs completely for inspection, cleaning and rebuilding. But for guys who live in warmer climates and/or run their vehicles very often, the hour meter can help keep track of maintenance.

I'm under the impression they connect to the coil on petrol motors. So I'm thinking for r/c u could connect it to the BEC....
But.... I think I'm wrong. There are some that do run of the coil. So might have to do some more research.

I think the first one would look better on an rc, maybe send them an email and ask for clarification.
