I do not recognize that car at all... Looks quite old.. Those shocks pictured are pretty small despite the picture making them look larger.... Interesting.

I have been putzing with RC well over 35 years even worked in the field so I have seen a lot of stuff but love to run into ones I just can't seem to place,

I will post some better pictures when I can but it appears to me the rear arms "might" be traxxas as well as the axles, shocks could be option house or duratrax, but shocks really do not help in many cases as they interchange so much,

the tranny input and layout is a bit odd but I believe it had to come from something.

I admit it, while I do have new stuff I really love old school vintage the best.

When I got a hold of it I saw the tranny was traxxas or rather I believe the proline version,
I knew them bevel gears looked too familiar, in the day I built far too many grasshoppers and their spinoffs...they were a popular sellers and I agree they very well may be the gears from Tamiya

The lay out is...odd, in fact I have no idea if it ever ran, but it has signs that is did, I have no idea if this is a kit or a one off custom either way I couldn't be happier to add it to my collection of weird old RC/Nitro junk....

And not next in line but I will finish it out and run it at some point,

if you look there are 2 nitro motor mounts on it, and that back servo would control the throttle

I have been very hectic, but my parents 86 mom 89 dad ( devoured over 40 years ) have been in and out of ICU so i haven't been putzing with my hobbies much,

The sprint car, The engine sits longitudinally, clutch at the front, in front of the drive gear is what I assume is the brake but not sure yet how to use it, it might have been as simple as the other side of the servo horn dragging it.
Starting the engine and the exhaust will be "fun"
Still not 100% sure it ever ran but it did appear to have at some point been built out, the cage is a work of art, perfect bends and welds,
At the least I will build it out see what happens if it drives that will just be gravy to be it's a heck of a shelf queen.....

We can date it by how long that traxxas tranny has been around....

Did you read what I posted about the make of the tranny?

You seem a bit down on it, do you just buy all your stuff built and never mod it...how dull and boring to me,

I have been into all this well over 35 years, doing things like R&D for weedboats and working at hobby shops,
Modding is fun, we used to do stuff like put nitro engines in old electrics and on my work bench is a raco going spint car,
You list liking "clodbuster" while fun out of the box those were a blast to mod, try it.

Yes I did... that's why I was asking... u think its a proline one... lets just say u are close..... I don't think its a traxxas magnum or a proline.... I think its...need better pics to double check
for someone that's has been in the hobby for 35 years, like u keep telling us. I thought u would know the difference from 20year old a traxxas gearbox to the on on ur car? ive been using computers for over 25 years... but that doesent make me any good at them...see I can be a ass too

yeah I guess u are right I have no idea on modifying rc cars
just like u have no idea how to use the search feature on forums

but anyway since u know everything... since u have been in the hobby for 35years
have a sus of my dead stock clodbuster...

or what about my stock Tamiya BajaKing buggy

or my stock Slash...

stock rustler with stock length and body

Dead stock over the counter matchstick trailer

Stock E10....if u even know what they are

Stock Tq controller

very stock SCX10... apparently they come with modified light buckets and LED's oh and smoke units from the factory

Dead stock touring car... apparently these days they come with widebody kits standard

Some slashes come with a cadge and 1/10 hemi

Oh and would u belive 26cc Cy engines come like this...

Lol...geez dude I sure didn't mean to get your panties in such a knot, had no idea after your negative remark you dish it out but....I assure you that wasn't me in "ass" mode....lol...anyway you know what they say about people who get into arguments on forums....lol.

I believed it to be a proline tranny it looked a heck of a lot like one of theirs so I posted that, oh dear, was I wrong?!?!? so what?

You made a post all down on it not worth puzting with so I assumed by your comment you are not into modding, or didn't like the poor little weird custom, or just a troll.
turns out you are into mods and have some pretty cool toys...thanks for sharing, I really love the rustler, I am not really a "truck" person my real life cars are a 69 vette and gt40 fake so that old school car on it is pretty sweet...the smoking truck also rocks,

I am happy to see you took a deep breath and chilled a little and got that out of your system but sadly your link of what you think the tranny might be didn't work,
I have a lot of oddities in my collection....

....After I made the above post,
I went looking at what made me think is was traxxas/proline. It didn't look like a cut magnum ( isn't magnum traxxas? ) or even cut to me...but I was open minded to tthat idea..you said it is NOT traxxas and NOT pro line...I knew the rear arms and axles were traxxas, allow me to share the thread that I admit I only glazed over to see the same tranny that is in my sprint car,

This link shows a stock Blue Eagle ( Traxxas )...

http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=27705

This link shows the pro line...

http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...n-release-date

sure looks like what I said all along, yet I was still open to opinions, didn't spank anyone....just blame it on the one crappy pix I posted....or go off on me again...but for now I will rest that it is what it is....

cheerz.... dont worry ill be nice....

as a token of my niceness.....
Traxxas SRT..... it 100% interchangeable with the traxxas magnum gearbox but its like version 1
(same as the eagle and TRX-1 housings)

ive got a sneaky suspension that its even got a ball diff, judging but the screw on top.... there are a good $45 worth on there own....

Its such a shame that Traxxas dropped the SRT.... it was years ahead of its time and far better than the rustler....I think if some of the haters were to drive one it would change there mind about Traxxas. even the TRX-1 won top honors in the 1991 IFMAR races.

Pretty ingenious idea for drivin the trans and keeping the engine inline within the body. Although Tamiya has been using similar shaft drives for their 4wd cars for quite awhile. The spur gear hub may have been made so big to integrate a band brake, only kind of brake I can picture. But sprint cars don't really need brakes so it may not have had one. Could've been direct drive with no clutch and the spur gear hub doubles as a flywheel. Just my thoughts. Cool find though
