Default duratrax maximum st project help

I am kinda of new to this building nitro I have a duratrax maximum st 1/10th scale its got the torq .16 looks pretty stock would love advice an tips to upgrade an make it faster an stronger I've heard its a bad rd but I only paid 70 so it's a good fit for now

There really isn't much if any aftermarket parts to make it more durable. Are replacement parts for it still availible? As far as making it faster I'd look into replacing the exhaust, it's probably pretty restrictive. Maybe an Associated RC10GT exhaust will fit. They're both side exhaust engines and both face face the same way. The RC10GT has a much narrower chassis though and the fuel tank may get in the way, compare some pics and see how far you want to go.

i have a rc10gt chassis do you think i should transfer parts onto that chassis

I think $70 is a fair price for that truck, assuming it's running and driving fine. Honestly I'd just drive it until it breaks something you can't find a replacement for. Then strip the chassis of whatever you need for the RC10GT and sell the leftovers.
