Default help with bodies

soo, ive been wanting to make a Tatra body.

I looked up some pics and the shape seems soo simple.

I sat down with some foam board, a pen and my axles and tires.

After several tries, I still didn't have anything that looked right. I cant seem to get the scale right?

anyone got any tips? It is not like I could find a picture to scale and just copy the measurements and angles.

here is a pic of what id like to copy.

All i did way typed 8x8 Tatra into a google image search....

if it was me I would measure my wheels and create a circle in autoCAD. Then superimpose a picture of the Tatra cab over the top until the wheel in the picture are the same size as circle.... Then use the measuring tool to get the measurements.... Or print it off at a 1:1 scale

kinda what I did for the one vehicle I'm making
Instead I scanned the tire I plan to use, and resized the trucks picture till it was the same size as the scanned wheel, and printed a 1:1 picture off, and taped it together.

I can't think of a more accurate way to get the body to scale than that! Thanks for the idea, one less excuse for not building a couple projects in my head.

syco, you tha man. simple, yet effective. no time consuming measurements or math....just scan the tire and resize the image!

I should have my 1.9s tomorrow or Tuesday...hopefully I will get a chance to scan them and print off a few images to go by.

Yea should see the 1/9th scale(working) Galaga Arcade machine I built using that method. Found schematics, and printed it to the scale I wanted then traced the parts, and cut(one of the reasons my 6wd scaler was put on hold)
