losi xxx-t mf2 transmission help
hi all I am new to this forum and this is my first post....so be gentle.....lol so my son bought a xxx-t losi mf2 and I was wondering what I could to swap the transmission out on this car to get it rolling for him ? is there another tranny that will work or what list of parts do I require to change up to something different. this is a cool little car and we wanted it to be a project for us to tackle so any advise or comments would be much appreciated.....thanks

Ok, by the sounds u want to change the gearbox from this car with another car???
just wondering why?? Are u having problems with the stock one?? The stock one can be upgraded with Robinson racing gears
generally gearboxes are not interchangeable. There has been skilled modellers over the years that have done similar things with other cars but it's all custom work.

the reason why i am asking is the bushing seems to be gone that supports the slipper clutch shaft and its stripping gears out, and as hard as parts are to get for this make and model i want to maybe adopt something into which parts are available. a 13 year old boy is driving so things are going to happen

Ah, that sucks... I had no idea parts were scares.
hang on, just looking online I've found a few things...
manual just for referencing part numbers.
http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/LOSA...celist.pdf.pdf
but it might be worth rebuilding the transmission.
new housing and spacer
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Losi-Tran...item20ebf5564a
new slipper shaft and gear
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Team-Losi...item5406bfac13
Robinson Racing hardened idler gear and diff gear
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Losi-Speed-T...item35dc63f978
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Robinson-Rac...item5d4ff7dce2
then all u would need are the 4 bearings LOSA6909 and LOSA6908
with a fresh housing and gears, especially those steel and alloy gears it should be a lot more reliable. Just be sure to inspect/rebuilt the slipper and diff assembly. I dare say been old the diff would need new or flipped drive rings and the slipper would need new friction pads
