Anyone have a Cutback?
I just got a tower hobbies mag, and saw the tower hobbies Cutback 4wd SCT.
It grabbed my attention (even tho I am not shopping for a 4wd SCT) because it has all the features of most 4wd brushless SCT's....but it costs about the same as most brushless 2WD trucks. $300 RTR.
My SC10 2wd wsa $300...I love it. But the Cutback is 4wd, has big bore shocks, has a 4 pole (instead of 2pole) and has a 80a esc (instead of a 70a) Both are waterproof and 2.4ghz.
Im not sure if the cutback is something only tower sells, or if it is a copy of another truck?
But you also get a 1 year (or 2year if you are a TH member) free replacement on any plastic part. Just send broken part and they send you replacement. That is A LOT for $300. Right now, they will even throw in a hex tool kit.
Im wondering if anyone has this truck or knows if it is any good (ie, handling and durabiblity) Cause it sounds almost too good to be true.

No offense to Tower, but it looks like my Hobby People Outlaw, as far as quality goes. That being said, it looks a little junky to me. But, I may be wrong. And if that hex hardware is strip-resistant, I'm SOO buying a screw kit for that truck.. lol!

If there were to be a Cutback kit released...I would be the first in line...or more likely to get one.
Tower hasn't replied back yet about releasing a kit or roller.
Also waiting for some other reviews to come out.

It is hard to imagine that a $300 RTR brushless 4wd SCT could be really good. I mean, the SC10 RS isn't the best value in 2wd SCT, but it isn't expensive either...and it is $300. Its power system is not as strong and it has a lot less parts.
I looked at pics of the hobby people outlaw, didn't seem to match up. But then, I am sure it was made by someone other than Tower. I have always been very happy with my Tower purchases....so I would hope that they wouldn't sell something with their name on it if it were on the low end of quality.

Hobby People (Hobby Shack Corporation) is not in the Hobbico scheme of things.
Yes I also am glad to see the warranty is crazy good.
