Default Changing gearbox and transmission and differential

I have a Tower Hobbies ST-15 that has been modified into a buggy, I recently broke the spur gear and found out from the company that most of the parts I need for repair are discontinued. Does anyone know how I can change the set up to accommodate a new readily available rear gearbox from a different model, differential, brake set up and transmission?
Any help at all would be gratefully accepted as I've now just got a broken buggy sitting in the shed that I cannot use and can't get parts for. I've attached some photos for reference.

Your model is a duratrax evaded/rusty clone so you can work off by researching if certain parts will be a direct drop in. A good starting point will be comparing parts list.

I've had a look at parts lists for the Duratrax Evader series and similar cars but can't find a model where all the parts that I could swap out (clutch bell, spur gear, brake system, gearbox etc.) are still being sold and not discontinued.

The big concern is how much if anything you'll have to grind off of the hinge pin mounts, the smaller the transmission the better. The Associated rc10gt transmission looks to be one of the smallest and may fit without any grinding. Of course you'll have to drill new holes in the chassis to mount the transmission and possibly the engine if the clutchbell doesn't line up with the spur gear. Also be prepared to modify or make your own brake linkage.

might be cheaper, and easier just to buy a newer used 2wd nitro roller off ebay as nitros usually go pretty cheap

Good point. Even with a different transmission you still have a vehicle you may not be able to get other parts for if they break.

That and you don't have to cobble it together, and pray it works out right.

Also can sell the current one(I see one on ebay going at $81 now with a few days left) unless he has emotional attachment to it that is.

I think the idea of getting a different buggy is better considering what's been said about other parts breaking as well and get a few quid for it on eBay. Thanks for your help.
