Okay collector 1231 if you dont mind could you check these out and review them for me lol. You are very helpful.

I like number 2. It is a little more but it has a few rpm upgrades. Also i read online the VXL stock motor is about as fast as the castle one i was bidding on. So im not mad. Eventually i will spend $200 for the Mamba Max Pro but the VXL should be good enough for now.

After looking over our old post i believe the 2nd on with rpm parts has the old black transmission. Im really thinking of looking for a slash. Seems more popular and i might be able to find one. Still will probably wait a week before i do incase a nice ruckus pops up.

this one doesnt look too bad: http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...less-sale.html
A little bit of mix and match going on, but all of the parts look decent, losi (spektrum) 2.4 tx rx, hobbywing esc, grey chassis rustler - not my listing, dont know the guy at all

I have to say a big thank you kistner for that link you sent me. I checked out her profile, to be safe and make sure i wouldnt get ripped off, she also has the motor i wanted for sale on a seperate post! I can get both for cheaper then the one i bidded on. And hers comes with a remote. So i wont have to buy a remote and i will have the motor she has in the traxxas now as a back up, or to sell to my brother or dad. Thanks again!

Nvm I checked it over. Nothing looks suspicious like the nail or old tranny. Went for it. Got the rustler with 2 bodies and wheelie bar, tx, rx losi 2.4 ghz radio system, hobbywing esc, trinity 17.5 motor, and a castle 4600kv cm36 motor. The trans is said to be upgraded, but if need be I have the extra money to do it myself now. Gonna order 1 2s and 1 3s battery and a charger. Will post pics of it later! So happy I got everything I wanted. Now to figure out what motor I want in it.

I read online the 17.5 motor is pretty fast itself. lol First thing im buying with the batteries is an rpm front bumper in case I crash. Since I am sure I will. Looks like it has upgraded shocks also. I am happy I lost the ebay bid because I got this one for a better deal. And I got a remote and extra motor.

From what I can find the trinity is a 4300kv. but it has a higher turn i think it means, not sure how much that matters. The castle is a 16 turn I read. I wonder which is faster. I know kv is a good rating but the turns seem to be a factor too.

It has been fun. Thank you everyone for the tips and help! I will have so much fun with my new rustler once it is all up and RTR. Thanks again! Now to snoop around on Rustler topics.

Yeah, there you go. That's one of the packs I use. Go over to Big Squid RC and look up his LIPO battery discharge curves. Gens always came out on top. Aw hell, here's a link to the latest shootout. http://www.bigsquidrc.com/lipo-batte...0-mah-edition/
Huh! I'll be damned. Gens Ace lost out this time to Turnigy and Traxxas (!!!) , Gens came in third. According to His latest results, Traxxas appears to underrate their packs. Check it out.

I'm sure they'd be fine. Me personally, I like getting the 50C packs. I think they run a little cooler (supposedly being able to supply Amps more easily) but I could be wrong. After a hard run, they still do get pretty warm. (105F) If you're running a power-hungry system like a Castle or a big 550 motor, the higher C-rating might be worth the few extra $$.

Thats fine. High jack away lol i ended up buying a reaction 30c 5000 mah 2s lipo and a kenexsis kx80 charger to start. Its what my local hobby lobby had. I got my car today and want to play with it since i have a 3 day weekend from work and cant wait a few days for them in the mail lol. They said the 30c will be good. I have my doubts so in a few weeks im going to order 2 of the turnigy 50c 5300 mah that were on that battery ranking you posted. Have to switch out the plug since the one on the car doesnt match my battery but my hobby lobby said they will sell me the part for $2 and soder it on for free since i got the battery there. Cant wait for tomorrow. Lol

They are Venom B-rated packs. Each cell in a Venom pack is subject to some VERY extreme tests, and if it fails one but it is still safe and okay to use, it is marketed as a BIAS pack. Still good quality LiPOs though, just not as amazing quality as Venom stuff.

While we are on subject of batteries, I have heard good things about these packs http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...ory&path=67_78
any thoughts?

SMC? Hell yeah! I have a couple. I don't know if it is because they're new, but I'll tell ya what, they spank my best Gens Ace! A noticeable improvement in available power. Thicker wires (a nice thing on those tiny balance wires) and you can get them with my favorite connector already installed! All for about the same price as a Gens Ace. I got the 7200mah 60C packs. Love them.
