Default first RC car

I'm looking to buy my first RC car. All I really want to do is ride with my friends. (Stampede and slash 4x4) I don't need anything super special. My budget is around 150 and I was thinking about the LaTrax Teton?

The Teton will not keep up with a Slash 4x4 and Stampede. And also, if you're feeling adventurous, enter "teton" into Google Translate..... Lol.

At Tower Hobbies, you can get deep discounts on RC stuff which allows you to buy another battery or charger or whatever. 014WC will save you $15 off the truck, which is enough for another battery.

Truck; http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXDZAZ**&P=0

Extra battery; http://www.atomikrc.com/collections/...-with-uni-plug

New charger (once you get the money. Highly suggested if you buy it now.); http://www.atomikrc.com/collections/...alance-charger

Woah! I want some of your friends! Lol.

But now you have the truck, you need LiPOs and a charger, as it is completely doable for $100, but you may need to cut a few corners.

LiPOs (x2); http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=246

Charger; http://www.hobbypartz.com/thac6smbachw.html

Charge leads; http://www.atomikrc.com/collections/...harger-adapter

They will give you about 20 minutes of driving with the brushed system per pack.

Thanks collector, I'll give you props for coming out of your shell and suggesting something (batteries/charger) other than what's on Atomik RC's web site .

Lol, thanks. I just couldn't find any good LiPOs on their site for less than $50 that would give him good runtimes.

Wow nice deal. Make sure if you get a LiPo though that your ESC has built in low voltage detection and you turn it on or you'll need to also get a low voltage alarm. LiPo's can't be run below a certain voltage without damaging them. The Slash brushled XL5 version has come with a few different versions of ESC and the original one didn't have low voltage detection built in. If it has a later version with it built in it will say "Low Voltage Detection" on the front beneath the EZ set button. If the Slash is a VXL then it will have low voltage detection. If it has an aftermarket ESC you'll have to look it up or post it here and we can help you.
