What have you done to your RC today?

It takes quite a bit of prep work to lay down a solid paint job. I dread it. It's been two weeks and I finally have two bodies cut and prepared for taping. I'm a slacker I know. Temps don't help either. I don't paint unless it's above 60°F in the garage.

I'm bored. LOL. I'm learning a lot about fingernail polish and lacquer. Some of that is expensive. Studying up on ingredients, and plastic polymers that are put in that stuff used to beautify one's nails. In my case, it's used as a plastic safe thread lock. Picking out a color...oh the decisions .
Gluing up some sets of Gladiators, and Badlands SC tires for some good weather coming my way finally... in about 4 days.

Never thought I'd see the day where I would have a pinion gear set screw fully backout, and be along for the ride inside the gear cover. That's exactly what happened last night.
Brought SC truck to garage to take battery out; picked up truck; rattling noise heard, and saw (what I thought was a pebble somehow enterend gear cover) my motor's pinion gear set screw was just rolling around in there. The pinion gear had enough grip on motor shaft to not budge...15 minutes of painful coercion to get the mangled gear off.

Due to the Traxxas bluetooth not working with my new phone , spent about 30 mins replacing the screen on my old phone . Plenty of vids on youtube to look at as a reference .
Surprisingly it works !

Got new servo to try out. Went to install...servo is 2mm too tall!
Within that generalization of "standard sized servo", there is indeed great variances in a servo case. Who would've thought.
Color me stupid.

Tower Hobbies
Ever get home from a fast-food drive-thru, and you are missing the hamburger with no pickle for your 6 year old. Your food is supposedly "double checked" for accuracy. You feel like an idiot no matter which way you go.
Got home to find a small bubble envelope from Tower Hobbies in mailbox. I open it up, and to my surprise, only four of the five items, that I ordered, were in there. I shook the envelope thinking one may have been stuck in the corner. Nope. I then checked the invoice to see if qty. shipped had changed, and Tower Hobbies possibly ran out of the item. Nope.
Item is not "high dollar" value. It's just the principle of things that gets me bummed out. My first order with Tower Hobbies since Horizon took over... a fail. I've been ordering from them since 1986 or so. I don't think I've ever had an issue with a Tower Hobbies order before.

JX $LB ($uper Low Budget) servo
I'm sick of seeing the $12.99 servo not getting a chance to shine. Apparently the top of case is thicker than I anticipated. I can't wait to see how long it's going to last.

In my doings, I finally fixed the steering (endpoints, servo horn not 100% screwed down) and transmission (had a homemade bushing in it to support the spur shaft) on my SCX10 and had my first successful run with its new body. I didn't break anything!

I totally forgot about that RC. I like! RCU needs a like button for sure! I went and looked at some vids of the Nitro Monster King... makes me want one. It's too late to think about getting into nitro, for me anyway. I get a little bit jealous of dudes having the knack to tune (and keep tuned) nitro RCs.

Been working on my Jammin CRT.5 got some goodies is the mail today. I've never had much interest in going fast the 30MPH range always seemed fine for me. After taking a break for a few years I thought why not go faster. Bought a Turnigy 3S lipo, Axial Vanguard 3150kv 550 motor and some Proline prime T 2.2 tires (still waiting on them) and a RRP 20t mod 1 pinion. Shooting for about 60mph not crazy but about twice as fast of anything Ive every driven before.

Yeah after OFNA fell apart i started buying parts cheap as people were clearing stock. So i have two complete rollers worth of parts stocked up. it would seem Hong nor sold themselves and its as to why i haven't found much anywhere. i had debated selling everything off but then i found out that team Redcats model TR-SC10E is a rebranded Jammin SCRT-10. so 90% of parts are getting imported again. then the other 9% is still on ebay. Only part you cant get anymore is the body it was a 1 off proline body

That looks awesome. Speed is fun but hard to control. A lot of people are doing speed runs at over 100mph, my Jato goes about 57 because of all the Aluminum I have put on it, lots of added weight, but that is way fast enough for me. I couldn't control a car going much faster than that. My sons Jato will do 72mph. Its uncontrollable, and almost lifts off the ground because its so light, no aluminum. I have a Hyper GT which does about 40. I think I am best at around 40 mph.
