9 Volt LED on 12 Volts ?
Hello,
1. anyone know ifI can run a 9 Volt LED on 12 Volts ?
(Apex RC Products Blue LED RC...Underbody Light Kit Set #9019B comes with a 9 Volt battery lead)
Can it be run on 12 volts (existing 3S battery pack)? , or 5 Volts (off my receiver) ?
2. By the way APEXRC does not sell this product on their website, or list it !! bought it off amazon.
thank you,
Swerv

5 volts off the receiver probably isn't going to be enough power.
12 volts, hell idk. depending on how its wired it might work. or it might be to much. if it's powered directly from battery to LED's it might work. but if there's resistors or anything involved it probably won't because it's been built to work with 9 volts and adding 3 more volts could damage it

thank you; I did try on 5Volts = did not light up at all; tried 12Volts = 1% brightness (no smoke no heat) ; back to 9 Volts = did not break the LED so that is good ; now on to finding 12Volt to 9Volt step down regulator.....
