yes its very early to ask, but can a nitro rc car be run in the winter or will the engine have damage done to it?

I run my nitros all year round in Indiana, cold winters aren't a problem, just have to richen them up a bit. When the temperatures go below 20°F,I find it helpful towrap the cooling head in aluminum foil, it helps the engine maintain proper operating temperature. When it gets below zero, my damn fingers freeze off so I don't run them.

I run mine in the winter all the time. You just gotta remember to fatten the mixture up. Sometimes you also have to cover some of the cooling fins, on my touring car this isn't required but it was on my monster truck.

I agree with shark, here in PA we get 9mo of winter 3mo of summer, and 1 partly sunny day a week,it's raining as i write. Then winter snow everyday, this weather up here is certainly not for those that are suisicdel.I have to get me another T-MAXX my jato doesnt go in the wet let alone snow.I never had problems,i'v run in 20 degrees windy frozen hands, fingers falling off lol,you nitroheads know how cold the fuel is.

Glow motors run fine in below zero temperatures. I actually can stand inside my house near a window, and drive my car around the driveway/lawn/street....and only step out to refuel.

I worry more about the plastics becoming brittle than I do the motor
