Default R/C Car Simulator

DuraTrax Real Race Generation 2
Includes Futaba Controller
14 different vehicles
12 tracks
120 adjustable features
XP compatable

http://www.realrace.com

I picked up the simulator tonight after I got done running my mini-z's and played with it for a while--the graphics looked pretty good and I didn't really drive any better. However, it only took the push of a "t" to get the turn marshall to get the job done.

I played it as a Demo at my LHS.
I didnt think it would be worth the cash$!
I mean Duratrax cars were never the greatest.
but I just didnt think it was a "Good" Simulator

Do you have Windows Me? Yuck. Windows 2000 or XP Professional--game playing on 2000 was more limited than 98, but the system was more stable and since XP (home and pro) are based on 2000, that's probably changed.

How many R/C simulators have you used? Please provide specifics, i.e. cost, manufacturer, website link. I did notice a few cheaper "simulators" (or older versions) but they didn't support NT so I figured XP Pro was out of the question. BTW, DuraTrax makes other things besides just cars--Ever check out their Mini-Z cases? The software was by Knife Edge, the graphics was by Hobbico, and the main was Great Planes Model Manufacturing Company.

I have the Real Race G2 game and really to me it is nowhere near the almost $100 I payed for it. I have had it for about 2 months now and only played it maybe 10 times. It really is not that good. Truthfully if you are thinking about buying it, I say dont and use your $100 on better parts for your R/C car or buy a new one with it. The game is not even close to the real thing and is just overall not that good. That is only my .02 but...later

I think the reason why the price is high is becuase it comes with the controller... I looked at the game and figured it would be fun for those days when you just couldnt get out therre and doo the real thing.... but as was mentioned previously... you are better off saving the money and buying hop-ups or field equipment I think.

Smartech - Use punctuation!

Also, where did you find that demo (that took 3hrs)? I don't think traxxas sells a car simulator.

I've been waiting for [link=http://www.into3d.com/go_rcland.html#]R/C Squad[/link] to come out. According to their Feb. update it'll be released soon. No idea when though. I've had the 1st video for a long time but they have a new video that I'm DLing now. They're supposed to come out with land, sea, & air versions of the game.

if i got a demo version, i would want to be able to get any hop up availible and see how it all performs. that would help for racing at like tracks so you can set your car on there to what you have and put it at different setting like shocks and that stuff.

Ive looked at a few screenshots and downloaded a few vids and the simulation seems good, im just wondering about the on road bit, as im more glued to that than off-road nowadays

From what I have heard (at other forums) the on road simulation is better than offroad ,which is no surprise, on-road doesn't have as much physics complexities as off-road. I think I might get it, even if its not super realistic, I think I'll have fun playing with it. If nothing else, it will probably give me a better grasp of what effect changes like spring tension, suspension mount location, etc. have on handling. Plus, every once in a while, I really want to BASH with my buggy, and I end up breaking something. Maybe I can use RealRace to get it out of my system and spare my real car

I have a blast with their RealFlight program.

The Traxxas simulator he mentioned was

3D Ultra RC Racers Traxxas Edition.

My brother has 3D Ultra RC Racers regular edition. It is bad. it is SOOOO unrealistic.

I just purchased Real Race G2. I looked hard for an exhaustive, good (impartial) review and didn't find one. I am tinkering around with it and I'll do a full review soon.

If you are looking for a good RC car simulation then I saw this one at the Model Expo this weekend and its fabulous. [link=http://www.virtualrc.com]Virtual RC[/link] The sim itself will be free and with that you get 2 free tracks, you can then purchase further tracks and buy race licenses to compete in online races. It can be linked to you own controller via a usb converter which will cost $30 or if your controller already has the ability to link to the computer you can use that. It all looks pretty cool. The driving was spot on and the graphics look great.

the duratrax g2 simulator is good once you download all the tracks and cars from their site. I also change the dirt tracks to parking lot surface to make it more driveable. the game is far from perfect but after you figure it out and do some mods to the cars and tracks it can lower your lap times especialy if you don't get to the track as often as you would like. it has helped me especialy driving in traffic and racing against the clock.
