shortening servo/failsafe wires?
does anyone know of a site that sells the crimp tool to put on plugs for servos and stuff? also sells the plugs, extra wire, etc
its almost impossible to fit all that wite in a receiver box. my newphews xxx-nt has a very small box. with the battery lead, two servo leads, and the failsafe lead, its overflowing.

you dont need to solder anything, just cut the wires, strip the plastic cover off of them, then twist them together. ive done that with my electronics and it works just fine.

It wouldn't hurt to drop a bit of solder on your twists and then cover them separately with some shrink tubing. You would have a much better connection, not to mention the whole job would look a lot cleaner too.

RE: shortening servo/failsafe wires?
a guy told me there is a way and a place to get all this stuff from a while back. i never needed it until now with that small little box on the drake.
its not soldering or twisting. its putting new plugs on the servos or what ever else you need. no ones heard of this?

RE: shortening servo/failsafe wires?
A company was selling a "make your own" wires kit.
It didn't really sell well because it Kinda a PITA to do by hand.
A freind of mine bought one, he confirmed this to me.
Look here http://www.ncws.com/rcrock/connector.htm
p.s.
I've been soldering extensions on my servos for years.
If the solder job is done correctly you'll not notice any drop in servo efficiency
