Default Engine Tuning question

Hey.

Ive just run in my engine and been trying to tune it.

When the car accelerates slowly and gains speed slowly but when it gets up to about 30 the engine seems to just kick in. Does this mean my mixture is to rich or lean?

Or could it be the clutch?

Thanks

Sounds like its rich on the bottom end to me.

Lean out the lsn by 1 hr increments and run it again until you get the desired feel and pull without damaging the engine. Make sure you keep temping it.

Just a little scared to lean it out a bit more because ive just come back from spending £40 on new piston sleeves and pistons and con rods. I need a temo guage really.

Thanks nitro_keebler

Yea, you need to invest in a temp guage man... Specially if you are having to replace sleeves and pistons. You want to make sure you break it in right and dont damage the engine.

Its all relative to your nitro content, type of engine you are running, elevation, all kinds of stuff. Better to get the temp gun first, lean it out in 1hr increments like i said and run a few wot passes then temp it.

Make sure you give the engine about 30 seconds after an adjustment to normalize. Make a few passes then recheck, dont just start turning the screw.
