Default is there manual tranmission for RC cars?

Is there someone in the world that's making manual transmission for RC cars?

Well not really manual(it's remote afterall)......but rather non-automatic.

Also how about reverse? Is there any RC car transmission that has reverse gear?

well, if its "non-automatic" its manual.....rite?

how would you change the gears?

also, if your a good enough driver you dont need reverse........electric is able to have reverse(reversible ESC)

i think it would be pretty simple..juss have a servo or somethin to hold down the clutch so it doesnt engaged and then with a button on your controller it would release..its sounds easy but i bet itll need alot of designs to get one right...n plus i think it would be uselss you can set it to engaged at anytime you want...n for newbs a reverse gear would be good because its always the wrong time when your car gets stuck(100ft away that is)

the traxxass e-maxx and several tamiyas (bruiser/mounty and the various semi trucks) all have "manual" transmissions operated by a third channel...those are all i can think of offhand

and lots of basher trucks have reverse now (t-maxx, savage, mgt, lst etc)

Dead Form! I came across this form while looking for, you guessed it, a manual transmission for RC cars! since no one has put one out there yet, has anybody thought of something like a bump shifter setup?

What would be the point? Aside from things like the Tamiya High Lift trucks and their 1/14 semis and monster trucks, most everything is going away from 2 speed transmissions.

Good searching, that is a 2004 bump.
In the main I think (with current limitations) only maximum speed cars will benefit from manual transmission. As said some time ago there are a few cars with some type of 3rd servo arrangement.
