my favorite is nightmare with the backwards spinning disk. that thing is unbelievable. it throughs bots to the other side of hte arena. what is your favorit type?

I havent watched that show in years but my favorite ones were a giant spiderlike robot and a robot that split into two robots. also the flipping ones are funny to watch.

bah my favs the horizintal spinning disk, saw it on robot Wars over hear in the uk years ago and it absolutly ANIALATED the other bots up against it it was gnarly!!!!!!!!

That robot is called Hypnodisk. It really does tear it up. My favorite battlebot in the U.S. is Mauler, the spinning robot with all the chains and flails. In the U.K. Robot Wars I think Razer or *****cat is the best.

My favorite robot wars bot is that fire one with the flipper, oh yeah, firestorm. I like flippers.

I gotta go with the old Champion, the one they BANNED!!!

Blendo - He was the original Spinner - like mauler but for some reason he was much nastier.
I think He had a lot more mass on the spinning part.
He'd connect with a bot and the section that touched him was peeled off and flung into the air,
many times it wouldn't land in the arena, it would go over the wall and land in the crowd.
Meanwhile the bot he peeled would be flying end over end across the arena.
Had a lot of one hit kills. This was all way back before the TV picked up the sport.

The people putting on the events were afraid someone would get hurt when he flung chunks into the crowd, thats why they banned him.

I Heard since they put a roof on the battlebox they were gonna let him come back, but then the show died.

Drat, just when I got the Ground Freq RC gear to build my bot...

is that the antena that i see sticking up? if so thats just hassle! the opperaters cant be more than 50' feet from the bot not like they are going to loose signal! why not tuck it in the body with a nub sticking out instead of an apendage

supposobly it is supposed to start a ew season pretty soon, because they won the judge thingy. i like huge powered flippers and that's why i'm building one, ryan

dc motors tend to cause radio interference and since most bots are completely cased they do have radio problems so an external antenna can be beneficial. the solution to this problem is just putting a resister across the leads of the motor to decrease the "noise" of the motor but most people just over look them.

my favorite was sir killalot, it had a huge hydrolic arm to grab the bots, then a flame thrower and chain saw (i think) to tear the bots apart, it was big and slow but never lost, from what i saw. i also liked the one with a lawn mower blade on top of it, it did fairly well too.

wow I completely forgot about that show! I used to watch it a few years ago, now that sirkillalot is mentioned I remember how much I thought he was awesome! My all time favorite bot was one that looked like a bulldog, can't remember it's name though...

I once wanted to make a robot that would spray something flamable on the other robot via a nozzle and then spark it and whoosh a huge flaming mess of robot! lol
