Anyone know their old Kyosho's?
I got this car online a few days ago. It was described as a 1990 1/8 scale Corvette LT-1 by Kyosho. It's very much like a stadium truck with engine centered and the front of the pan kicked up for wicked steering angles. Has conventional pinion and spur, then power is routed by a shaft to the rear where a small belt drives the diff using twin 22 tooth pulleys. The diff is a spider gear type with metal pinion and plastic ring. The engine and tank are my additions, but everything else is OE including wheels and tires. Oh... it uses a very simple plastic "brake shoe" that rubs against the cluth bell. Can anyone tell me more about this car?

It's an old kyosho nitro based on the kyosho rampage. The rampage was a 2wd nitro buggy. It was also available as a stadium truck (outlaw rampage), which I had 10 or 12 years ago. It was also offered as an onroad corvette zr-1 and a thunderbird.

I still have the 1991 Outlaw Rampage which is pretty much what that is. It is in my garage at RCUniverse.
Mine has an OS .12 engine, and the same crude plastic brake & airplane exhaust, etc. Pretty identical in all respects. The OS uses a rotary carb and single needle adjustment.
If you know where I can get a spur gear, I'd love to get her rolling again.

I still have the early 1990's ZR1 corvette... It still runs and my son uses it in the summer as a drift car... Running the os 11 motor and using rear exhaust.. Got sick of the exhaust oiling down the bottom of the car.. Spares are very difficult to find and the belt is almost non existant..(anyone have one).. Just a fun car to use in a large open parking lot.. Not nearly as fast as todays larger 12's and 15 engined cars but still fun.. Tops out around 35mph but does great power slides due to the limited suspensions of the day.. We can waste a set of proline rubber in an afternoon of drifting...

Thanks alot for all the info guys! I knew I'd find some info here. Yeah, my belt is also non existant! I'm using a rubber o-ring to make it go! I'm assuming the kit came with the exhaust (marked Kyosho) and the engine and radio were extra. I've never seen an exhaust with a rotory gate like that before, was it the throttle? The engine that was sent with it was an OS 10FP,but the carb body was missing.Yeah Doah, the thru the roof thing was one of those"Oh-oh,wouldn't it be cool"moments, and it does keep my "drive belt" from getting soaked!

What do you use for tires/wheels? The stock ones (they look like old Goodyears) arn't the same size as what's being used now. I could also use some steering parts (one too many curbs).
Here's a pic or two.

I love the tank on my Kyosho. You can pull the one black knob up to pressurize the tank, and you can prime the line by pressing the other one.
