Default Losi xxx-nt owners.....

I am wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the diff. adjustment screw breaking.

I have gone through 2 already, and is anyone having any other problems with the diff.

Has anyone switched to a metal gear set yet or is there one even available?

Thanks...

Buy some Associated 4x40 steel mini locknuts. I never could get my diff tight enough for a loose track without stripping before I went to them Now I use them on all three of my losi trucks.

ITs not the diff gear he is having a problem with, it is the little tiny lock nut that squeezes the shims to the gear.

No man, the 4x40 is the thread size/type, that is where the mini came in. The out side of the nut is tiny to fit into the little plastic thing but the threads will fit on there. Take your old stripped one into the hobby store and compare. I wish I could give you the part number but I bought a 10 pack and then lost my top to it when I put it in my pit box. I know associated makes them and a lot of other guys have gone to them as well. If you go the the maxxtraxx forums, you can post in tenth scale stadium trucks and ask, I am sure someone still has the number because I told them about it and several guys went to that type. it is a 4x40 though, just a mini. And don't stress dude, once you get it figured out, she will be great to you. Mine hardly ever give me any problems anymore, and when they do, it is almost always my fault. Good luck.

Thanks.... I did pick up the 4x40s but I guess they are not mini because they will not fit into the plastic thingy.... I will have to look for the mini size....

Thanks again....

i had a xxx-nt for two years before i had to rebuild my diff. Once you get it right you will never think about it again. Get your manual and look up the part number for the mini alum lock nut AND the plastic holder. Putting a new nut in the old holder is just throwing grease on a fire. there only a couple of bucks so get them both. When you get it done make sure your slipper slips BEFORE YOUR DIFF!!!! It can be real tight but make sure its the slipper slipping and not the diff.

Do that and you will forget all about it.

Hope this helps.

diff nut carrier A-3078
4-40 mini lock nut A-6306
these are losi part #

Default Diff adjust

I'm new at this & wondered how tight the diff must be. I broke my xxxnt in & I want to be sure it isn't too loose.

I always ran the slipper at 4 turns out so I set it to 3 turns out and tightened the diff so the slipper would slip before the diff as I turned the spur with my hand. Then back the slipper out a turn.

Default Losi

Thanks & I will check it out. Has anyone heard of converting an airplane starter int a nitro starter? Was thinking about mounting a thin tire in the shaft.
