Well finally bit bullet and ordered from Tower Hobbies!
First R/C purchase since late 80's 
This is actually an xmas present for my girlfriend. yes believe it or not one of the things she wanted was an R/C car....she said she always liked them. Granted she meant just a basic one you get in a store probably, but I wanted to do a little better than that and get a good quality recreational R/C setup for use in the backyard (grass) and probably parks and some street use. Thats not all I am giving her, just one of the things. Yeah most women would not want this for xmas but my girlfriend likes them and specifically named it as one of the things she would want. She's pretty cool like that. She likes football too

I usually spend about $700 on her for xmas. We have been together 7 years now. We own a house together
