Default hpi products vs. gpm brand and some extra help

hi. im thinkin of either gettin the hpi super chassis or the gpm one. need help gettin opinions regarding this. plus the upperbody too.
by the way, need some huge help. was wondering if u guys have any idea of the prices for the following and if it's really worth it to get them:
sway bars
racing clutch
engine head (bigger)
tuned pipe (need a good brand please thanks)
front and rear carbon shock tower
fibre brake disc
air filter (brand and price please)
i mean u could see the prices on the web right but they're different when u go to the hobby shop
any help would be greatly appreciated. its just that i was plannin on gettin a chassis and upper deck upgrade but i kinda figured to start on the parts mentioned above first. thanks again.

i got the gpm chassis and i really like it, its not as stiff as the hpi chassis, but i liked it, it looked really cool too, if you are racing, get the hpi chassis

yea i got a gpm to. If your get one just tape the whole chassis and cut what u need open. the hpi super chassis cost around 50+ and gpm $20-30.
OR

What i should of done when i first got my new chassis is clear coat the bottom a few times, this may a good idea for you, to help prolong the chassis from getting scrapes.. Oh and the hpi chassis is 4mm thick vs 3 mm gpm hope this helps

but if u cover it with tape it will eventually come off? what tape would u use? and yeah.. y so many holes? liek sum ppl really need all those holes 2 fix stuff from underneath? or is that 4 air 2 come inderneath2 cool **** down?,... but would that mess up ur aerodynamics?... whats the point 4 so many holes?.... and is there a BIG differenece from stock hpi chasis and the hpi super chasis or gpm? or is it jsut lighter and easier 2 fix stuff from underneath?
thx

My guess is there is more hole to lose wieght, I know i dont like all the holes either but it was the same price as the stock chassis on ebay at the time. And the tape i used is black elct tape. not alot of it, just on the front areas and on the mid/rear. (the areas that the chassis would scrape the most)
If anyone cares to know.. i also clear coat the rims when i first get them. That does help keep the crome on them ALOT longer
No big difference i can tell, just being the price mostly

i have the gpm also, the hpi is made of a stiffer grade of aluminum and you should get that if your racing. if your just looking to make your car look nicer while adding a bit of functionality, then get the gpm. its lighter than stock and looks much nice. about the same flex though.

Sway bars, $15-20 . If you race on a track then yes other wise not really for normal roads
Racing clutch, i paid $11.. yeah
Engine head, havn't really seen too many of them for cheaper then stock ($35). i'd say $40-60.. just stick with stock
Tuned pipe, yes to get the most out of your engine, The guys at my hobby shop say vantage racing makes really good pipes but they cost the most out of all of them i've seen. -RDLOGICS- seem to be popular and those are around $40-50
Shock towers yes, either carbon or alum. around $15 each
Fiber disk brake, can't really tell from the stock one. They both feel the same to me. $10-14
Hpi racing air filter $14 bucks and i could tell it was a bit faster from a dead stop
Im thinking about a battery chassis "thingy" prolly would save a bit of weight. $17 ebay

The thing about is your gonna want to shop around online because some online stores sell the parts for full brand price(when a something says RETAIL $80 us $56) and other well sell cheaper the retail.
www.towerhobbies.com
www.rcmart.com (good stuff but comes from hong kong : \ )
Theres a place called ebay? kind of an online garage sale but they seem very popular
im sure there alot better sites out there tho.. so GET BUSY!
