Default wild speculation on future of nitro rc

Lets hear some thought on where the hobby is going to be in the near future.
I think a V-Twin 2x cylinder engine is possible.
How about a 3 speed or 4 speed to go with it?
How about RamAir cooling? (That can be done now)
How about on-board remote starting. Similiar to that Ez-Start thing from Traxxas. Hit a button on your radio it closes a circuit to heat glow plug and turn the engine.
How about on-board cpu's ...the uses for that are infinite ....all wheel drive stability(wheels that slip to wheels that grip?) ....mixture adjustments ...FUEL INJECTION?
Let hear from you guys what you think would be awesome new things that will make you or your future kids say wow.

i want a 5 hp engine for one. I know you would never get traction btu i just think that that would be sweet. you would have to go form like a 40 mph roll to race and stuff, but i think that would be sweet because, could you imagine the top end that the sucker would have? It would be amazing. It would make all of our rc car look like they were built be tyco or something.

I would also like to see a supercharger or turbo charger. That would be the coolest things since girls. I can just see a small turbo sitting on my car that would be so sweet.

Not to burst your bubble but super and turbochargers can only be used on 4-strokes.

Now what I would like to see is a manually shifted transmission with 3 or 4 speeds. Or what might be simpler, a regular two speed centrifugal, with a manually shifted high/low range. So then it would be a low gear with two automatic speeds and a high gear with two speeds.

Yea, I have also been thinking of a manual tranny on a RC car. That would be so much fun.

how would you shift it from low to high?
A bigger engine and all that turbo talk does nothing for me .....id like to see more convient stuff like a processor fan to act as a cooling aid......any one wanna work with me on this to see if it wil actually keep temps down? pm me

How about a pair of glasses that you wear.....and where you look is where your rig goes? Be careful now....you might just run over the neighbors dog before you know it!

On the subject of the sunglasses:

Hell! why dont you just skip that, put an on-board camera on your car, and use one of those arcade racing games as a controller so it would be like you are sitting in a car seat, using a steering wheel, and actual pedals for breaking and throttle. The screen which usually shows the game you are playing would display what the on-board camera is seeing on your car. Now that would be a sweet experience. And if you could add sound to that it would be even better. Ha Ha.

You think I'm kidding? Look at my post! What's wrong with steering your MT by eye sight? If that isn't futuristic enough....I don't know what is?

Hopefully.....for electrics....better batteries....ESC's.

For all RC rigs...better servos....engines that run cooler....possibly an electronic safe guard on "ALL RC RIGS" that will keep them from self destructing as a run away....and from engine temps....like a mini computer that can be accessed on your radio so you know at a glance what is going on with your rig while it's performing for you. Smart technology....better than what is out there now.

I would really like to see an electronic fuel mixture control. Instead of adjusting screws.. something that DYNAMICALLY changes mixture richness so.. when we step on the throttle, it'll lean out and when it gets too hot, richens it again..

Something smart

maybe he forgot to add his reply lol....how about 4 wheel steering like on real monster trucks ...when you hit a certain point in your front end servor it pulls the lever on a second servo to turn the rear wheels in or out? not usefull yet but could be

Oh this eye control thing.. you have no ide how much that costs.. your gonna need one helluva DSP to process that kind of information!

Your talkin about 10 grand at least.. and thats cheap as hell lol

They do have this kind of a system in the apache helicopter. The machine gun turret follows the target. Ouch!

I would like to see EFFICIENCY.
HEck I would REALLY like to see a high speed turbofan motor. that would seriously kick ass.. perhaps even a gasoelectric rig
Motor kicks in when juice is needed and otherwise it runs on electric and the gas motor is removable for max performance

Like someone said.. how about a DASHBOARD on the remote? That would totally kick ass!

yeah i think the remote needs to get smarter too.... the car needs to send back info to the remote ......it needs to receive information to let you know whats going on with the car
as we all know anything full size can be converted to scale
temerature, speed, fuel level, charge left in the batteries in the car, I think the remote is gettign over looked by the hobby. All we se is more channels, range, weight, battery consumption. How about some real SMART stuff.

AYE!

Your right.. were paying an arm and a leg for useless crap.. some digital information exchange would definitely be good..

Speaking of which.. a nice Digital channel talk like PCM will definitely help. the signals can be encoded and the reciever can be made smart so it recognizes signals only the that one transmitter and none else.. with the encryption it can even be an inbuilt fail safe device and on top of that avoid all forms of servo jitter!

Ahh the days will come..
