looking for transponder system
I am looking for a transponder system for my track. I wanted to hear some feedback on different ones or different places to get them at a decent price.

There is only one. AMB has a corner on the market. You're stuck with them. Try Ebay for used ones, they pop up every once in a while. Otherwise its around $5K for the system.

AMB is just too darn expensive. fine for 1:1 racing since thats suppose to be expensive, but for RC systems they're prices are ridiculous

Check with your LHS. Should be able to get the whole system for $375. Indavidual transponders run about $40. Way better than $5K for the system and $100 for the transponders.

RE: looking for transponder system
I don't see how that infra red system would work for off road. Dust would cover the eye, and the transponder could get knocked off the body easily in a crash. The Ko Propo looks interesting, but if you want to attract seasoned vets to your track you need to have the AMB. I already have 4 AMB personals, and would not likely buy some other brand just so I could race at one track. Many people also will not want to use personals, and the AMB system comes with 20 house transponders - which run on a battery so its easy to mount and take off of your rc. It sucks, but AMB is the only way to go.
