What to spend money on?
OK. In the past few weeks I have been really picky about what car to get. In 2 weeks I am getting money and I have $180 to spend. Here are my options:
Option#1 - Buy Redcat Volcano EPX and this charger http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLCJ6&P=ML If I do this, for christmas I would get the Redcat brushless system. How does the Volcano hold up to brushless? How would it hold up to 8 cells? What pinions/spurs will work? How much runtime can I get from the volcano? About how fast is it? Is it good in grass? Powerful?
Option#2 - Buy Redcat Volcano SV. Get upgrades for christmas.
Option#3 - Get upgrades for my stampede including new batteries and charger. My current batteries are cheap-o 1500mAh's and my charger overheats if charges for over 25 minutes.
Option#4 - Buy HPI Wheely King.
Option#5 - Save money and get Nitro Stampede for Christams (I like that one so fas the best)
Option#6 - Save money and get Redcat Hurricane for Christmas
How would the Volcano EPX hold up to a high power brushless system like the Mamba Max or Traxxas Velenion? Is it a good truck?
Please do not bash Redcat Racing
Thanks for the opinion and please.......any suggestions are extreamly helpfull.

RE: What to spend money on?
The only Cen I have is the CT5. It is too fast for me so I take it to parking lots and do speed runs. The upgrading I plan to do is to turn it into a rally car. Any ideas? I found rally tires. What shocks can I use?

RE: What to spend money on?
i would suggest getting good batteries and a good charger. once you have good batteries, charged with a good charger, everything you get will benifit. more speed and runtime with higher capacity batteries. then you get complete charges with a good charger. i believe batteries are THE soul of any r/c, so i would get the basics for r/c taken care of.
some good batteries are 3800's and 4200's. try to stay away from venom packs, as the cells are poor quality.
a good charger would be a MRC 977 or 989. they work great, and will get you a complete charge every time. they have a power supply, which you will inevitably need.
hope that helps!

I wonder if my hobby shop would let me drive my car with a set of their batteries to see how they are?
