Just saying hi.
all i ever hear is how they are low quality vehicles with even less hop-ups than duratrax
We arent many company do hopups for us so we basically offer all the hopups available from the factory.
Just to give you a idea, our facotry racers just put 2 stock MT2 and win 2nd and 7th in 2003 SideWinder Nitro Explosion race in March against all hopups T-max.

Anyways, not many people have heard of CEN yet so what do you expect? a full line of hop ups made by different manufacturers already? give me a break.
CEN, I think that that your new on-road car looks awsome. Especially if you can fit a .21 into it! Keep us posted on new releases.

CEN Racing, is it true that you will be coming out with a big block monster truck? I heard something like that somewhere, supposed to be bigger than the Savage and BFT(if it ever comes out). Thanks!

First hand experience with the SP1 and I did not (and everyone else who drove it) like the way it handled and lack of tuneability. It was a borrowed car from a fellow racers. Others did not like the car for other reasons.
I believe now that I read a bit more about the TR4 line that CEN had made leaps in their car. I believe that putting out the SP1 swayed potential RCers in the past, including me.
This would be the same thing as others nicknamed Duratrax "duratrash" because of the quality.
BTW, it seems that TR4 is competing marketshare with the RS4?

1. Yes, we are releaseing a big a** MT, and no, it will have nothing to do with fun factor( i am sure someone will ask this question). Not only larger than Savage but even larger than Terra Crasher. And yes, it will have a big powerplant. At least a .21 and faster than our current 1/10 scale MT2( which does over 45mph stock) as well
2. The new on-road CT4 R is a kit form. But we are including centriforce clutch, carry bag, tuned pipe...etc and lots of other hopups. And yes, a .21 will drop right in. Just need to play with the motor plate a bit. here are some details on the car
http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/foru...hreadid=120681
3. SP1 was our first car built like 7-8 years ago. and it was meant to be a begineer bashing car for around $200. So tuneability and handle is not the 1st priority, stability is because buyer will be the very begineers know nothing about RC. So its not really made to race.
4. I am confidence to say our quality is up to par with the top manufacures out there. We do not only built our cars, we manufacture parts / cars for others ( the world famous brands) as well.
5. TR4 street price is around $270-280 so we are not trying to compete with GT4 or 4-TEC in the $350 range. We are competing in med-price range RTR ($250- $300)

Its a pleasure having someone involved in the industry drop by. Maybe you can help me figure something out. The 1/10 scale stadium truck market is in dire need of more manifactures who make race level trucks. Losi, associated and kyosho are the only elecrtic competition level kits available and Mungen has a nitro truck as well. Its so stale. The kits seem to be some of the most basic available as far as parts count. losi are hard to find in many local areas due to the restrictions of horizon. Do you have any idea how much talk there would be if you were to develop such kits? A TON. Im supprised OFNA/HONG NOR has not dipped into this market. Its getting to the point that comp level 1/8 scales are a dime a dozen. Also if I can ever lay some paint for you guys for a photo/show body let me know . Check out my paintwork at www.1stplacerace.com

Just saying hi.
Our 4WD ST2 is very cmpetitive and handle extreme well. But 4WD stadium truck class is not recognized yet which really sucks. Its a lot more fun than 2WD and handle a lot better as well.
2WD nitro/electric market will be hard to get into. Not because we can not design a better one but because AE and Losi are dominating in that segment. Thats why you do not see any manufacture jump into it. Its kind of impossible unless you can win many races over them.
Its hard to promote a nitro offroad ST if you dont race it. Its hard to win a race when 5 out of 10 driver is driving the same car. Its even harder to find a good driver that willing to try a fresh unknow brand. You get the idea.

What I was saying is that, had the SP1 been made better then, it would have made a better entry in the RC and competed well with the Kyosho MKII, HPI RS4 (1st and 2nd generation), Anderson, Yoks, etc.
Again, I'm glad to see that CEN is making another attempt to enter the market with much better car.
Hope to see the TR4 at the tracks in the very near future.

Just saying hi.
yeap, use the SP1 to enter the U.S. market is a wrong decision. It does well in Europe though.
Most likely you will see CT-4 R at the track most often. Its made to win the race while still have ability to take on a .21.

Just saying hi.
so you got a big nitro truck coming out.. I asume you will be getting some demo and review models out there for the magazines (COUGHRCUMAGAZINECOUGH) to check out. It would be nice to give someone (COUGHUNSTABLECOUGH) a chance to wring out the truck and post his opinion for all to see so that the customers can make a desicion
glad to see another company hop on RCU. I hope that you can use this as a way to get feedback directly from the customer base, and to help out people with their questions about your products.
what relation to CEN are you, the owner? a rep?
so welcome to RCU!. hope you enjoy your stay, and I hope its a long one.

Yeah, this is a lot easier and more accurate to get feeback and market research then talk to different hobby shop owner daily.
So 1st question. For a Gigantic monster truck. We are deciding either we built a Wheelie Monster or Top End & speed Monster. We are basically deciding on the gearing. So which one do you guys want to see?

I would say huge low end wheelie poppin power. But don't gear it soooo low that you lose speed, make sure it goes at least 30 mph cuz a slow truck wont sell. And everone likes speed
What do you think the retail price will be, and when will it come out?

Do not make it slow!!!!!!!!!!!!! wheelies and top end can both be had with a 2 speed transmission. I would say a 2 speed is what you need to make it with. Im tired of these slow Mts. anything below 40 is just too slow for me. Most 1/8 scaled mts dont go over 35 stock. If you made one that went 40 Im sure it would sell aslong as the chassis and drive tran can take the punishment. I also strongly encourage you guys to make The mt in a kit form. if that is too much to ask then maybe you can make it rtr without radio gear so we can choose our own. There are alot more people that want someone like this then just me. But by all means do not make this MT slow. It will need to be fast in order to sell.

oh it will come with 2 speed and reverse as standard, electric start too. Just on the gearing are undecided right now. We can have big wheelie and say maybe 40mph top speed, but it wont be the fastest thing out there. or maybe small wheelie and say 45mph top speed.
Our current line MT2 is gear pretty high, Top speed of 45mph but close to no wheelie.

Just saying hi.
a 1/8 scaled Mt that pops wheelies and goes 40 mph. that sure sounds good to me. I say just gear it for 40 and then offer optional gears so if someone wants to go faster they can. Also are you considering a rtr without radio?? pretty please lol.
