RE: **OFFICIAL** MTR-3 or 2S 1/10 truggy
I ran my MTR-3 today for the first time in weeks today, and everything was great. The engine started on the first few pulls and it ran great. But I had to stop because of some radio problems. The radio has always seemed a little glitchy since I first got it. If I get too near to the truggy with the transmitter the fail safe activates. But today it went out of control for a few seconds, crashed, and then went back to normal again. I'm pretty sure this is a problem with the radio. Do you guys think I'll need to buy a new radio now?

AMF....
If you are using rechargables in your reciever,,,,,make sure they are fresh.....
Same thing happened to ME this weekend with my MXB......
Turned out the rechargables were bad and would only hold a charge for 5 minutes or so,,,,and the whole time the radio was acting real glitchy, and finally lost its bind (Spektrum). I threw away the old batts and bought some fresh rechargables and it totally solved the problem.......
Then my Steering servo took a Krap,,,,but thats a story for another day.

RE: **OFFICIAL** MTR-3 or 2S 1/10 truggy
Forgot to post this, but I ran my MTR-3 a few days ago at a local field/parking lot and it was awesome! [8D] When I was on the asphalt the tires really got a lot of grip and I realized just how fast this thing is! It's also the best handling truck I've driven (then again, I've only driven 4 RCs XD) on pavement, even though it's a truggy. Much better than my monster truck that rolls over if you take a corner at anything above 5 mph. Driving it on the grass was really fun too, since it was the first time I've ever driven it in a big field. It flipped once when I took a corner too fast but it landed top side up. The only problem is that the body is melting next to the exhaust manifold. [X(] Overall, it was great.

My wheels were like that on my MXT-2s. I just kinda giggled it around and pulled on it and it came off. But I know what you mean, the wheels are really on there. One day I was looking at my mxt and realized that I had ran it at least a couple times without the wheels nuts and the wheel didn't come off lol.

Yeah....My MXT2s wheels were Real tight also. I used WD 40, lots of Patience and a Little bit of Muscle. Eventually they will come off.

RE: **OFFICIAL** MTR-3 or 2S 1/10 truggy
I ran my MTR-3 for the first time in months today, and I had a great time even though it's freezing outside. We got the ramp out and had some good jumps and tumbles, but had to stop when a screw came loose and was lost. This screw has a silver bushing that goes around it, and it attaches the c-hub ([link]http://server.sohouniverse.net/~himotora/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=1513&=SID#MOREINFO[/link]) to the steering arm ([link]http://server.sohouniverse.net/~himotora/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=63&=SID#MOREINFO[/link]). I looked the manual, but I can't find the part because it isn't in the picture. Does anyone know the part numbers for the screw and the bushing?

For a project, I was wondering if anybody knows the tooth count of the pinion on the clutchbell of the MTR-3 (must be the 3 - not the 2s)

Hey all, I'm getting back into RC after..........lets say 15+ years or more! Lets just say when I last ran cars the the Grasshopper and RC10 were the cars to have and I've always ran electric, never Nitro. With that - I just ordered a new MTR-3 and can't wait to get my hands on it. First question I have (I know I'm jumping the gun but what the heck) is has anyone popped in a .21 engine to replace the .18? How much mod is required and how did it run?

Hi,
Welcome to the forums and the himoto family. I havent put one in personally but i am sure it can be done, you would have to redrill the chassis to move the motor back and possibly the rear exhaust could be a problem. Try the .18 first and see what you thing, its a fast truggy, you can see it in my video here how fast it is, this is the same one that your getting, this is stock out of the box.
