Nova.....
I own 4 of those servos and so far they have worked Very Well, with no failures......
You cant beat them for the PRICE......(Thats what I just installed in my 1/10 Buggy.)

However, I am going to try the New Version, that Amf66 posted. I fully expect they are at least as good if not better than the Old version.

If you use them in a MXB buggy, you will have to get a Futaba Pattern servo Horn. Your Stock horn will not fit.

If you want to use the Stock horn (assuming it is not stripped) then you will have to buy a Hitech servo.....

Is there any advantage to using a metal horn, other than durability?

You have the bling factor (looks nice), you wont strip the threads where it goes on the spline of the servo and you wont crack the horn.

Hey Guys....

Got a new Mod for the MXB buggy......

Dual Brakes........
When I installed the upgrade Brake Kit on my MXT-2S (1/8 truck), i had these parts left over.....Thought I would put them to Good Use!
So,,, Installed them on my MXB.

Haven't Run it yet, but I'm sure it will add quite a bit of Punch to the Buggy Brakes.....

I'm also working on a (very simple) Linkage mod that SHOULD improve the carb linkage a great deal....
I'll Post THAT Mod as soon as I test it.....

Lets see the linkage mod! The linkage on my MTR-3 is sticking really bad to the point that it won't break. It gets stuck on the carb linkage and won't break past neutral. I don't think it's the spring though. Could your mod fix this problem?

Amf......

My Brakes work Great!
They are a LITTLE tricky to get adjusted just Right, but dont worry, I'll have you STOPPING in no time flat.......
I'll take some Pictures at Work tommorow and write up a Post about my Brake Mod, (its very simple).

I also Modded my Carb linkage, (actually, more Adjustment than Mod) and added a Throttle Return Spring.....Works GREAT!
I'll Post THAT too, after I take a couple Pics....

In the Mean Time....

I did some work on my Diffs....Here is the Post.

Was doing some general Maintenance on my MXB-3 Buggy and I noticed that the diffs felt a little Rough. Upon examination, I found the Center Drive Cup/Shaft was Loose. There was too much "in and out" End Play and the Ring and Pinion would Grind or work fine, depending on circumstance. (see first 2 Pictures)

Disassembled everything to check it out. I saw that the Drive Cup Shaft (Pinion Shaft,,see Pic 3) indeed had too much room to move around and that I could Tighten everything up with a few well placed Shims.

I used 2 different sized shims. 5x10x0.01mm and 5x8x0.3mm. (see links).
https://www.rcplanet.com/ProductDeta...ctCode=HPIZ688
https://www.rcplanet.com/ProductDeta...tCode=OFN10412

I placed them on the Pinion Shaft, (see Pic 4) so that there is Just the right amount of Backlash.
Not too Much, not too little......Everything rotates Smoothly now.

I have been driving the car for a couple weeks now, Testing out my Work, and everything is still working nicely. So I decided to make this Post. Its important to stay on Top of this kind of Maintenance if you Drive your RC's as Hard as I do, or you'll wear things out Real Fast......

P.S.
Its REAL handy to have an assortment of Different Sized Shims on hand for doing this sort of Maintenance.....for when things start to Wear and Loosen up........

I think I'll open up the diffs on my MegaP the next time I run it. I'll see if it might need the shims. Instead of a throttle return spring for mine I just used a small rubber band. Works great! [8D]

Great videos Rich! I like how you used the WD40 straw as a pointer! That zip tie on the exhaust pipe might solve my problem of the exhaust coming off of the manifold. I also like the way the viper manifold looks, I might have to get one! Did you notice any performance gains with it?

Thanks Guys!...We'll Keep the Videos Comming as we get Ideas or requests.....

My next idea is for a Series of Videos (2-3) that will Show general setup, all the way through Break In, for my RXB-1, (when I finally get off my Butt and Order it!)

AMF....
The Biggest Gain is that it is Thicker and More Heat resistant, where it Mounts to the Engine. If you make a Mistake and run your engine too Hot, you are less likely to Fry the Gasket.

As Far as Performance?
It FEELS like better Low end Punch, at the expense of a Smidgen less top end. Might be my Imagination though, cuz the Buggy is still Screamin Fast!

In any Case, when I install an Upgraded Pipe, I'll Pick up some extra Umph on the Top End......
