Yes you can get a 2 speed or a center diff.

Pede, from looking at the photos and drawings (exploded views), they seem to be identical except for the body, the roll cage on the buggy and the wing on the buggy. Oh, and the rims are white on the buggy versus chrome on the truggy.

what is the best (toughest) setup? the 2 speed? or the center diff? for bashing anyhow?

for bashing, its center diff hands down, on road would be 2 speed. Less to worry about with a center diff.

Man, I can't wait 'til Tuesday! My new MXB-3 is due to deliver. I'll get some pics and let people know how it runs (although I am sure it will kick *****). And if I can figure out how to do so, I will get some video also.

Just remember to put locktite on ALL metal to metal screws before you run anything, and watch out for them mail boxes and tree's jumping out infront of them, they have a tendency of doing that.

Dont forget the Curbs...... they are a silent killer also.... hehehehe

Actually there very loud if you hit them just right it can also make the hair on your back stand up (hearing that noise) knowing you have just caused yourself money and time .......LOL

Don't worry - I will take time to check everything over and loctite the screws. And i will run it through a proper break in. It will be tough, though!

Video tape that break in....I cant Count the number of times I'VE had something Funny/Wrong,,,,happen when I'm breaking something in....

Yeah, baby! Got my new MXB-3 Friday. Cut out the body and added an exhaust diverter. Spent Friday evening breaking in. Started tuning today. Here's a few pics for your enjoyment!

Wanted to share one issue I ran into during my second day of running. It seemed like the steering was acting up. The steering linkage (shown in place and off, after I shortened it) was adjusted too long. To compensate, the servo horn was put on the servo where it was not straight on the servo when the servo was at center (shown before I adjusted the linkage) to keep the steering centered. This was causing the linkage to bind and the servo to click when trying to turn *right*. And it was limiting the travel to turn *right*. I took the linkage off, shortened the linkage, removed the servo horn and replaced it straight with the steering centered. There was also interference (shown below) with the steering arms when turning *right*. This was also causing the servo to bind and click and limiting travel when turning *right*. A bit of work with the Dremel tool took care of this issue. Steering is working much better now. And I am sure my servo is much happier (no clicking)!

Is the Turning Radius MUCH greater after the Dremel Fix, or was it more of a "Save the servo" kind of fix?

The combination of steering adjustments (including what I showed here and the other linkages) was making it so I had to trim the steering significantly right to run straight out of the box. So I had limited travel remaining in that direction complicated by the binding issues. So I could turn left in a circle about half the width of the road. But I could not keep it on the road when turning right since the turn radius was so big. After all the adjustments, I can turn equally well in both directions. And yes, I wanted to save my servo.

Eddie, you were right about the engine starting to come to life. I am on about tank 9, and it is starting to really wake up as I get it tuned. I was giving it some speed runs today, and it is really starting to fly. And the handling is great - way better than the Jato (which has no front traction - 2WD) or the Viper (which pushes in the corners - no center diff). Man, do I like that 3 diff set up. I was also starting to hit the ramp today as I was getting used to the handling. I had a few bad shots, and tumbled it in every direction. The nylon (?) parts are great! I really tumbled it hard a couple times, and it as like it was made of rubber! Some of those rolls would have broken an A arm, A arm pin or something on my other vehicles, and the MXB came through with nothing broken. My only casualty so far is a slightly bent but still functional dog bone. I have not gotten any video yet (sorry), and have not had a chance to post any new pics. But that is because I am having too much fun bashing!

One thing I am noticing is bubbles in the fuel line between the tank and the carb all the time. Some times it is worse or better, but the bubbles are always there. Is that a sign of a leak in the fuel tank/fuel line/exhaust? It seems like it is tough to hold a good tune. Could this be the cause? And I thought maybe I saw some pressure leaking between the silicone sleeve and the pipe one time.

I also got the steering even better today. I noticed that it still seemed to be binding some. Turns out that the dog bones seem to be a bit long in the front and bind when turning hard. If I adjust the linkage for the camber, I can get the binding to quit, but I have to run with a good bit of positive (yes, positive) camber to stop the binding. Until I figure out something else, I am leaving it that way. And now I can turn either direction in about a 4 foot circle.

I love the buggy and am having a blast! And the weather has been great, just in time.

Do you have an AFTERMARKET radio, (Futaba,Specktrum, Airsonics, etc)?
Just adjust the Binding out with the End Point Adjust (EPA).....
These Mega P's have such a tight Turn Radius, that you can afford to loose 5 or 6 inches and still be fine.....
