oh and my esc and motor is realy hot after 5 to 6 minutes of speed runs im running a 18 t pinion and stock spur what could be wrong?

You're on the right track with the dean's plug, but remember that current has to make a complete loop through your whole system... Get rid of the connectors between the motor and the ESC, use either good bullet plugs (that surround the whole whole wire) or solder directly from the ESC to the motor.
Depending on the surface you are running on, you might need to gear it down and lots of acceleration and braking will heat things up quicker than normal.

It's all the spinning of the tires that will over heat your system. Too high of R.P.M.S. with no load.

No but running the car with no load will stress the motor and increase rpm [)]
Same as running the car with no load holding one wheel with diffs to ballon tyres it will destroy the diffs in the end lol

For brushed they can, an undergeared motor goes over-RPM, starts to arc and all that... you can damage a brushed motor from undergearing almost as easily as you can damage it from overgearing. It's nowhere near as robust as brushless with regards to gearing, many have to be geared just right.

yep ive ordered a 14 tooth but my esc has thermal shutdown but everytime my motor gets hot its life decreases
