What kind of tarmac car do you have?

I have 1/10 scale Nitro TC3 - I bought the RTR and put in 2 spd. But need bigger motor now. Still have factory motor.

went racing tonight

and broke my car

smashed the front right shock

bent the chassis

bent the front diff

and a load of other stuff

because my bird tryed to snatch the controller out of my hand
and i hit the kirb at about 40 mph

supose its time to get those alloy parts

funniest part of the night was when the other lads exhaust melted

apart from that it was fun

That is so cool. Where in the UK do you live and where did you end up going to race? Was it nitro or electric?

i live in liverpool

we go to a car park in southport about 14 miles away
perfect tarmac

and we set up an oval with cola bottles half filled with water
so if u hit them they dont damage ur car

at the moment its just me and my bro and his mate

but other ppl go ther to havent seen them yet they proberbly go at another time

ther isnt any tracks for nitro around here and weve only just got are cars

but hopfully we can get more ppl to come and maybe setup a club

but at the mo its just for fun

21 mantua engine - I have never heard of that name. Does anyone have a link for more info??? I would appreciate it.

How far is everyone from Harrogate? That is where I am moving to. I am not familiar with the suroundings yet. Been looking at some maps and trying to find some of the places mentioned in some of the posts here.

The mantua engine - I went to the site and looked. They seem to have less power than the OFNA engines. Is it just cheaper or what makes them so good?

Marv, where do you go bashing? Anywhere you can recommend around our fair(?) city? Also, which LHS do you go to or do you do everything by mail order?

Are there many LHS in England? I will be living either in or near Harrogate. I have never been to England before.

Studysession,
Yeah, there's loads......if your into planes, eletric, model boats dolls houses etc. The last time I went into an LHS and asked if he dealt in nitro cars, he chased me out with a large broom calling me an ungodly freak of nature for wanting to put a nitro engine in a car!!!!!
Seriously though, its mainly mail order here. Unless you live in a big city with a lot of LHS's chances are, the one nearest you will only be good for basic supplies, and, if you're lucky they may order stuff in for you.

Anyone here near Harrogate - once my RC stuff arrives, I would like to get together with some local people to bash on the weekends.

I arrive the 1st week in August and then my stuff will be there either end of August or beginning of Sept.

So did this ever come off then?

New to nitro myself (had my car almost a week now) but the bug has bitten and sunk his teeth right through to the other side

Stoke isn't a bad place to race, only about an hour and a half drive away from me (Wirral, Cheshire)

Stoke is a bit far for studysession, he lives near Harrogate. Unless he doesnt mind a 2-2 1/2 hour drive? (At the speed limit, ofcourse)

Im from Manchester.... so about 1 1/2 hours for me.

It is a bit far for me. I will be looking for a place to buy nitro close to me next week. Someone told me that there is a big RC Shop in Leeds. In next couple of weeks I am going to try and find it.

I have been here for 4 weeks now and still finding my way around.
