REEDY TRUCK NAT'S
More Race Coverage Here.
Your "on the spot reporter" went to Day 3 Final Qualifiers of the Reedy Truck National's Race at Hot Rod Hobbies Race Track in So Cal.
The Hot classes to watch are the Electric 1/10 Factory Modified Truck (Truggys, actually), and the Open 1/8 Truck (PRO NitroTruggys! ).
The Regional Finals (all the Expert Drivers) of the SLASH class was also Highly entertaining. (Sort of a Smash up Derby for Slashes, Lol!)
For those who sniff at Electrics, let me tell you that those 1/10 Factory Mod E Truggys are as fast as Expert class 1/8 Buggies at your local tracks. It Blew my Mind how Fast those trucks were. Very Exciting to watch!
Of course , the Highlight of the day was the A and B Main final Qualifiers for 1/8 Pro Nitro Truggys!. All the Famous Pro Drivers were there.
Cavalieri, Truhe, Tebo, Maifield, Cody King, Brian Kinwald (the Dirtinator!), and that Fat Guy whose Name I can never remember, Lol....
Let me Tell You, these guys put on a CLINIC for MAD Driving Skills!!!
Those of you who have driven on a track, know how difficult it is to put your car where you want it to be......It will Blow You Mind to watch what these guys can Do with a car[sm=what_smile.gif].
If you ever get the chance to watch a Race like this, (with these caliber Drivers), I Highly reccommend you do so! You wont regret it....
Associated also Demonstrated their new Stadium Class (similar to Traxxas Slayer, but Bigger and FASTER!) 1/8 Nitro trucks.
Maifield and Cavalieri drove the Demo...(They look like tons of Fun, but are nearly $700 [X(])
Some Pics to Follow!.....
Some arent too clear, but my lil Digital was Overwhelmed by the Speed, Lol....

Drivers....
Maifield, Cody King, Mike Truhe, Ryan Cavalieri, and that Fat Guy whose Name I can never remember, Lol!.....
Notice they are all using FM Transmitters, and NOT 2.4GHz radios?
And how about These Guys for corner marshals in a single race,,,,Maifield,Tebo, and Cavalieri....

and that fat guy whose name I can never remember!!! nice, great way to be friendly Rich...lol...I'm suprised you didnt dig you 1/8th truggy out and show them boys how its done...lol....and as far as them slash/slayers and whatever assciated calls their truck goes, them things look freakin kewl...I'm thinkin thats going to be a new rc class that just takes right off...before long all the big boys will have their versions out....I want one but I dont like traxxas, and im sure the hell not going to pay $700 for an rc....to me thats insane....I can think of 2 1/8th rc's I could buy for under $700....but like I said....I think that is going to be the new rc class that shoots to the moon, so I think himoto should get their designers on this asap....thats just my opinion....he who waits eats the others dust...

RE: REEDY TRUCK NAT'S
Randy....
They are Racing the Stadium trucks at my local track and they are Hugely Popular!
It's the Biggest class at the Track, these days. Lol, I bought one last week, just so I could Play Too!
Right now, they only Racing as a SPEC Class, which, basically, means NO Mods except you can install your own Radio System if you want.
Since there is only One Class, Everyone (Novice, Sportsman, Expert) might be on the track at the same time (although you are only COMPETING against the guys in Your SKILL LEVEL). Its a Great way to attract Newbs, (the Slash is so cheap and you CANT spend $$$ on Mods) because the cost is low and Electrics are less intimidating for Most Newbs, AND they get to mingle with the Better Drivers......
The SPEC Class is a Great Idea! I think Tracks should do it with OTHER Vehicles as well.......Gets more Folks into Racing, and once you race, (especially if you can do it without Breaking the Bank) you will be Hooked!

You need to put this on the RC Electric offroad forum and 1/8. No offense but nobody races Himoto.

Do you go to every track around the world and keep tabs on who runs what???...Since you graceously gave us your OPINION, I will give you mine....Maybe you should try NOT walking around with blinders on...And maybe you should do a littleinvestigating before you make posts...

RE: REEDY TRUCK NAT'S
Yup.....
There are TONS of Himoto Racers in Australia, Asia, and Europe.
There Are Many Club level Racers in the USA.
There are a Number of Club level Racers in this very Forum.
I have no Doubt that there will soon be Sponsored Himoto Drivers in the near Future......
After That, its only a matter of Time before you start seeing Himotos compete at the Highest levels.

I've noticed that at other races too, why don't pros like 2.4GHz? [:-]

RE: REEDY TRUCK NAT'S
Thank You.
I knew Someone would come up with the correct name!
My Apologies to Mr. Fisher.
On a side note: I HAVE noticed that there seems to be a Weight Issue in the world of RC.....
A good percentage of us (myself included) would stand to benefit from a bit of Exercise, sometime during the week, between Race Days.
