Shoota....
If you dont find something Obvious, then.....
Tear the Engine Down, (it's Pretty easy).
If there are any Cracks or busted pieces, it should be easy to spot when its all disassembled.
If you dont find anything, then put it all backtogether (seal it with silicone) and if it starts up, then it was probably just a loose screw or burned gasket........Or a loose glow plug.....Lol....

RE: what gives?
with a loose glow plug you can still have enuff compression to run....actually sometimes with a new engine it helps to loosen the glow plug to help it start easier for a bit...as far as your exhaust gasket...here is what I do...I got to a auto parts store and buy a roll of gasket material...and iffin ya dont have a razer blade buy one...you will spend about $6 on a roll of gasket material that will prolly make say 50+ exhaust gaskets

Yep....Like Eddie says......
A few months ago I left my Gasket Material at work,,,,so I Borrowed one of my Buddies gaskets for his Associated RC10T.
Associated .15 smallblock engine. The Gasket worked fine. Looked exactly like a Himoto or Redcat .18 Gasket....
