Default Here's The Restoration

Here is the exact car that I soon will probably be in the process of restoring. Although this is'nt my car it looks exactly like it. I google searched that car and finally stumbled across it. Feel free to comment on what you think. I'll post updates on the restoration as I go along.

It is worth restoring because, you have to take into account its age. If it's a 1988 and now it's 2009, then it's 21. Plus, if you look closely at it, no new rc car looks close to it. Lastly, you need to do something over the Winter.[sm=biggrin.gif]

It's a Radio Shack toy, plain and simple. It's not and never was a hobby grade rc. The only way it would be worth anything is if it was still NIB like silverj's and even then is probably not worth much more (if any more) than when it was new. If anything is broken then it will probably be impossable to find parts to properly restore it which will make any value it MAY have a lot less.
That being said
Bottom line, the car may mean a lot to the op for whatever reason and restoring it "just because" is as good a reason as any to restore it and the "value" to him is all that matters.

Good luck with the restore if/when you finally get started.

I used to have a black radioshack lamborghini just like that. It was probably a little newer though.

As long as you have fun cleaning it up is all that matters. Based on finished eBay auctions, it looks like mint/near-mint versions of that car are worth ~$30. So long as you understand that it isn't a Tamiya Bruiser in terms of collectible, then just clean it up and have fun with it. The Countach body is a classic, certainly.

Not everything is about "resale value" when dealing with a hobby. Cleaning up one of your first RCs ("hobby grade" or not) and making it look as good as the day you got it will bring back fond memories and put a silly grin on your face. That's the value. It's a hobby after all.

Personally, I want to see some pics when you're done.
