Who ran what 9/27/09
Hi Guys,
Wanted to do some good running this weekend but yesterday was a little busy and today it pretty much rained all day. Idid get a chance to finish a project tamiya f1 that i was working on. I ran it inside for a few, its 1/10 with foam tires, running a stock motor, an older electric motor, the green machine 2.
I will post pictures later if I get a chance.

raced the rxb this weekend...getting better and raised few eyebrows... got a "did I just see that" when I nailed the table top side by side with one the top drivers...people are telling me I'm really improving....I think I actually led the first lap of the b-main, but was all excited and crashed...lol.....but on a good note I think I wasnt lapped in the b-main (havent seen the results)
the 17th of october is going to be exciting....its going to be a 90 min endurance race...no heats, just going straight to the main...have to pit yourself and all...should end up being quite fun..lol

I'm actuall getting to the point were I can concentrate on driving a line apposed to just trying to stay on the track shiney side up...at first I was trying to carry to much speed in corners and not staying in the groove...I am starting to keep a better line in the curves and when I do need marshalled now its usually due to a bad jump...but that has become less because I'm trying not to commet to a jump, if I'm thinkin I dont have it set up right with the right speed I'm trying to roll over them...big learning curve.. a guy that started racing the same day as I did told me he thinks I'm taking way more risks then him..so I'm trying to settle down some...and running the buggy with alium shoes is pretty much like driving a hole different buggy....

It has alot less slip with those shoes, I will have to start running them too. Just take your time and try not to worry about your place, one flip and you loose alot more time then just making consistent times.

Crashing takes too much time and you can end up PASSING the "Faster" drivers if you take a little off and make consistent lap times.
Thats SWEET though that you are improving......
I Knew you would (based on my own playing around at the track) once you got comfortable.
That 90 min race will be a Good Test for the Buggy, (Driver too,,,,Lol).
Good Luck!

RE: Who ran what 9/27/09
Today I drove my MTR-3 with my friend and his brother who both have Rustlers. We had a great time and even though we cartwheeled the trucks WAY too many times to count they seemed to always land lid-up and keep on going. The only thing that broke was one of the shocks on one of the Rustlers that dumped all it's oil when the cap came unscrewed. I raced my MTR-3 against one of the Rustlers and even though it was much faster of the line I won because he flipped. I think the reason the Rustlers were faster though was because both of them were running too lean. My friend burned through two glow plugs in less then a minute and the coils were completely gone and the glow plugs were black! Oh yeah, the exhaust manifold gasket on my MTR-3 broke again, so I guess I'll have to cut out another one. It was great!

Its very hard for a 4x4 truck to keep up with a 2 wheel drive truck. Less involved when it comes to moving the gears. That being said, the rustlers are fast, i have one and put a 3.3 in it, the thing flies, amost as fast as my jato 3.3 thats modified.

Yeah, but I prefer the handling of 4 wheel drive to the speed of 2 wheel drive. Although 2wd trucks are a lot of fun to drift around corners! I'm also gonna call Tower Hobbies tomorrow and see if I can get them to send me a new engine for my Tower Terror under warranty. [8D]

I have put my nitro hobby on hold for the moment. Life and work have put a strain on me. There are numerous new things I have yet tried out as far as my nitros, but I have to set them aside. I usually check in and out on here a few times a week just to see if anything is new.
Not saying I'm getting out, just setting it aside. Just want to thank you guys for everything and thank you Eddie for everything.
If the lord is willing, I will return...........
Peace out guys!
