Is there any device like this?
Ok so I want to test some electric motors I got. I want to test mods I did with them and I want to push them to the limit. I was wondering if there is a device that is AC powered that I can hook a DC Rc motor up to via alligator clips and then control the power and speed of the motor manually. This is what I had in mind. Anything I can buy? Can someone like me to something similar? Thanks.

Variable output power supply should work. Like the ones you find in high school science rooms. Still unloaded doesn't mean much. And if you are going to be putting a load on them you might as well get a proper ESC rated well past whatever the motor will be able to pull.

You are better off buying an ESC an a radio. A good quality variable power supply will cost you hundreds of dollars. Especially one that will put out the amount of amps you need.

Dont model trains run off this principle? An AC supply converted to DC then sent out thru the track to the trains. Big trains would need some amps i would think................just a thought.

I was thinking a rectifier for electro plating could work too, but those get expensive for big enough models ($300 and up). You are better off to just get an ESC to run the motor.

What does that motor master device do? Is it the same thing I am talking about?

It will test the motors like you want. It's much more sophistuicated than what you describe.
But...It does not plug in to AC current. You will still have to have a power source, either a battery or power supply that can provide at least 25 amps.
